Every sport has its meaningless games but they somehow seem even more so in the NFL where people are trying to hurt each other.  This game could be a little sloppy as both teams just want to get in and get it done.

Jacksonville

The Jags are killing people, rising up when they are least expected to like last week against New England.

They put a scare into the Pats making that 3-0 ATS when the number is north of 10 points.  The number this week is nowhere close to that and it should be noted that one of their two victories was a home upset of the Titans in November…

The Jags are the second worst scoring team in the league and this week they are going to be missing their top two leading rushers and leading receiver.

They were having a hard enough time already but now it seems like they might be lucky just to pick up a few first downs.  Other than QB Chad Henne to WR Justin Blackmon what else can they really expect to work…

There are so many reasons you can’t put your hard earned money on Jacksonville:  motivation, talent, injuries, offense, defense.  Yes they tend to rise up when you least expect it but Vegas is saying this one might actually be close.

I can’t agree with that opinion.

Tennessee

Tennessee is really only marginally better than Jacksonville. [soliloquy id=”82219″]

They have the league’s worst defense in terms of points allowed after getting throttled at Green Bay last weekend and it should come as no surprise that not one of their 5 wins has come against a team currently with a winning record…

I guess RB Chris Johnson is having a rebound season as his numbers running the ball are better than last year.  What is weird is that they haven’t really involved him in the passing game all that much.

Their QB situation is not good and usually that means lots of dumpoff opportunities for running backs.

Jake Locker is still fighting it but is being given the chance to prove he has the mettle one way or the other.

Nice athlete but I am not sure he has what it takes…As a major underperform team we shouldn’t be surprised that the Titans ATS record is is bad like their SU record (both 5-10)…but somebody has to win this one and given the small number

Tennesse has to be the way to go.  The only think to pause about is that 4 of their 5 wins have been by 4 points or fewer.

Spread Pick:  Tennessee -4
O/U Pick: Under
Score Prediction: Tennessee 27 – Jacksonville 10
