Last week’s win by the Colts over Green Bay might have been the most shocking result of the season – even more so than the Vikings win against San Francisco.

Indianapolis

The Colts, even with their new franchise passer, were supposed to be pretty awful this season but at 2-2 they are second in the AFC South.  They are no threat to the Texans at the top but actually have a run of 5 winnable games in a row including this one.

The Legend of Andrew Luck grows.  Only 4 games into his NFL career he already has engineered two 4 quarter winning drives.

His overall numbers are not off the charts, and he has just a 77.5 QB rating, but winning is what matters in the NFL.

It is no surprise that he has focused his attention in veteran receiver Reggie Wayne’s direction.  Wayne is second in receiving yards, defying the age he has put on his legs by continually getting open.

Public perception probably couldn’t be any higher on the Colts (or lower on their opponents) right now which makes this one a risky proposition.

I just don’t like the idea of taking a rookie QB on the road against a defense that can be very unpredictable.

Throw in a little weather and I like it even less.

New York Jets

Where do you turn if you are the New York Jets. After a promising opener against Buffalo little has gone right either offensively or defensively.

Their best player is out for the season and their quarterback inspires little confidence.

I guess the best thing you can point to is that despite these facts they are just a game back of New England in the AFC East race meaning that if things turn around there is a chance at a happy ending.

It seems that as long as Tim Tebow is around (and Mark Sanchez sucks) there is going to be controversy in New York. [soliloquy id=”82219″]

Early it looked like Tebow was unnecessary and now they are trying to figure if he can be the answer.  He is probably both and neither.  This team is also not helped by injury bug which has nabbed their best offensive and defensive playmakers.

Nothing is going in the right direction for these guys right now.

The Jets may be a train wreck but its not like the 49ers are coming back to town this weekend.  With the Jets down and Colts up I think there is a good buying opportunity here, especially if you can get an extra half point.

You will sacrifice a bit of payoff but increase your win chances enough to make it worthwhile.
