NFL Betting Picks – Tennessee Looks for Better Season Start Against Oakland

The Tennessee Titans hope to squash any optimism that the Oakland Raiders have going into the 2010 NFL season and NFL Betting lines reflect the notion that Tennessee will do just that. A repeat of Tennessee’s 0-6 start in 2009 appears unlikely especially since Oakland is on tap for Week 1.

The Oakland Raiders actually had a good off season. When is the last time that you could say that? Still, would you spend your NFL Betting dollar on the Raiders? Lost in the optimism is the fact that Oakland has a new offensive coordinator and a new quarterback. Jason Campbell has not exactly lit it up in the preseason.

But then again, who does he have to throw to?

Going into Week 1 of the season something is going to have to be done about an offensive line that was brutal last season and is bad right now. The offense hasn’t wowed anyone in the preseason so far but they haven’t been getting any help from their offensive line. The running game is still very unsettled – I don’t like it a bit.

Oakland’s pass defense is actually OK but the Titans ain’t a throwing team. Oakland had one of the worst run defenses in the NFL last season and has done nothing to improve it.

The Tennessee Titans have a lot to prove early on in the season. Their 0-6 start last season took them out of playoff contention right away but this year will be different.

Vince Young won eight games last season and only lost two. Young now knows that all he has to do is manage the game. He knows that Chris Johnson is the reason that this team will win. Chris Johnson took care of his contract issues early and looked focused in training camp.

The Tennessee Titans were a top caliber defense just two seasons ago. They have looked pretty good in the preseason and have shown glimpses of their dominating days.

Chances are that the defense will likely just have to be average against Oakland.

NFL Betting Preview:

6 ½ points may seem pretty harsh but this game has blowout written all over it. Expectations are high in Tennessee. The Titans – or should I say Chris Johnson will have his way with the Oakland defense all day long.

Tennessee is going to dominate the Raiders and open a few eyes on the AFC.

NFL Betting Pick: Tennessee Titans + 6 ½

I was taking in all you wrote here, and oddly you earlier state that Oakland actually had a good off season, and then you say that they did nothing to improve their run defense? I am not sure where you have been, but they made moves to improve their run defense, sorry to call you out on your mistake, but you actually stated, they did nothing to improve it, for which you are incorrect.

Titans win this game but thanks anyways on your weak comments.

And it’s Titans -6.5 not + 6.5 you idiot
