Do you think that some Jacksonville fan had a voodoo doll of Tony Romo in anticipation of the Week 8 matchup? Seriously, the Cowboys bring a significantly worse football team to the field this week – thanks to the Jacksonville wacko with a voodoo doll.

Jacksonville should get the unspectacular David Gerrard back this week from a concussion – not sure if the team is sad or happy about the return. He has looked OK at times this season (remember the Indy game?) but has looked terrible at times too.

It’s a good thing for Maurice Jones-Drew. He has gotten off to an extremely slow start (510 yards and only one touchdown so far). Jones-Drew brings his best to the big games –  he will be ready to go against the NFL’s 21st ranked rushing defense.

Jacksonville’s defense – bad! It is a good thing that they are going to be facing a bad running game and a passing offense led by Mr. John Kitna! You can bet that the Cowboys will probably gain half of what they would have if Romo was healthy.

Dallas is in trouble and there were signs that they were just about ready to give up! Monday`s game was on its way to becoming a humiliating game for Dallas – before the late scores made it reasonable. The team is in shambles in every aspect of the game.

A top ranked passing offense will surely drop in the rankings but the running game that has averaged 73.7 yards per game (30th) might just get a kick in the pants. It says a lot about a team when they are forced to rely on a 30th ranked running game for success going forward.

The Cowboy defense was totally exposed on Monday night. Dallas has the 21st ranked run defense and it showed. Maurice Jones-Drew had to be licking his chops when he watched the game. Against the pass, they are ranked 7th (200) yards but it is unlikely that David Gerrard will do much throwing.

Betting Outlook:

Jacksonville is 3-8 S/U in their last 11 games and is 5-14 ATS in their last 19. The Jaguars are 1-5 S/U on the road and ATS in their last six games overall.
Dallas is 1-6 S/U and ATS in their last seven games and is 0-4 ATS in their last four games as favorite.  Dallas is 12-6 S/U in their last 18 at home but is only 2-4 S/U at home in their last six.

Jacksonville is a team that seems to play up to their competition. True, they can look really bad, but they can also look OK. I think that without the Captain of the Cowboy offense in uniform, the Cowboys won`t offer up too much in the way of offense. Conversely, the defense looks defeated already. The Cowboys are done and I believe that Jacksonville will at the very least keep this game close.

Betting Pick: Jacksonville Jaguars +6.5
