Are we all looking forward to Johnson/Finnegan II? I am! The Houston Texans head to Tennessee this weekend in a battle of teams that have gone 1-12 combined since Week 7. Not exactly flattering numbers for two teams that started strong and have completely fallen apart!

The Houston Texans have proven to be a game bunch. They have lost in every way possible this season but as evidenced by their Week 14 performance, they never give up. They have lost six of their last seven games to fall out of the playoff hunt but their effort on the field indicates that this team will fight to the very end.

Houston’s offense has been great this season. The passing game ranks 7th in the NFL averaging 252.92 yards per game and Schaub has averaged 365 yards passing in his last two games while tossing five touchdowns. Andre Johnson is averaging 145 yards receiving and has scored two times in his last two games.

The running game has also been strong. They are also 7th in the NFL in their category, averaging 129 yards per game. Arian Foster currently leads the NFL in rushing and is a factor in each and every game that the Texans have played.

Houston’s defense has been their undoing – period! They are dead last in the NFL in passing defense (279.92 yards per game) but have the 6th ranked run defense (98.46 yards per game). With that in mind, it appears that Tennessee will be a good matchup for the Texans – the Titans will run and run and run. Remember, the Texans defense shut this team out only a few weeks ago – the only time that a team has failed to score more than 26 points against the Texans all season!

The Tennessee Titans have fallen off their own cliff. They are losers of six straight games. The offense has been brutal and the defense that had been carrying them early in the season has completely fallen off the rails.

The Titans will turn to Kerry Collins once again to lead the 30th ranked passing game. He threw for 244 yards and three touchdowns last week – much better than the 184 yards that this team has averaged through the air this season. Kenny Britt is healthy and ready to assume a bigger role but let`s be honest – the Titans are not going to rely on the passing game in this one.

Chris Johnson broke his brutal slump last week and went for 111 yards and a touchdown. The rushing offense is still middle of the pack – 14th ranked – 113.23 yards per game. Johnson gained just five yards on seven carries when these two teams met on November 28th.

There was a time this season that the Titans had a Top 5 ranked defense in most statistical categories. Now they are 26th against the pass (244.31 yards per game) and 21st versus the run (120.62 yards per game). They will have their hands full with the well balanced Houston offense!

Betting Prediction:
The Houston Texans are 1-6 SU in their last seven games and are 1-4 SU in their last five on the road. They are 2-7 ATS in their last nine games overall and are 2-3-1 ATS in their last six on the road. Houston is 3-8 SU in their last 11 games against Tennessee, 3-6 ATS in their last nine against the Titans and is 1-4 SU in their last five trips to Tennessee.

The Tennessee Titans are 0-7 SU in their last seven games and 1-5 ATS in their last six. At home, they are 1-5 SU and 2-4 ATS in their last six games. Tennessee is 8-3 SU in their last 11 games against Houston and is 4-1 SU at home in the last five versus Tennessee.

The Houston Texans are a true hard luck story and probably deserve better than their 5-8 record. The Titans on the other hand fully deserve their eight losses. I like the Texans to get it done in this game. Andre Johnson is dangerous when he isn’t fired up. I can’t imagine what he is like when consumed by motivation. Houston should win easily in a high scoring game.

Pick: Houston Texans +1 ½
