The only thing certain in this one, is that only one team will end its losing streak.

Just one year after being one of the league’s sup rinse playoff contenders, the Vikings have been miserable, and after losing a nail biter in Chicago in Week 2, they dropped a home game and a chance to right their sinking ship against the Cleveland Browns last Sunday.

Proverbial running back Adrian Peterson has been stellar all thing considering, averaging 4.1 yards per carry with three touchdowns while catching 11 passes with one of those going for a touchdown.

Meanwhile, quarterback Christian Ponder has completed 59 percent of his passes with two touchdowns and has rushed for 76 yards and two touchdowns.  So, what ‘s the problem? Five interceptions while being sacked 10 times.

Besides its obvious offensive line woes, defensively the Vikings are one of the league’s worst,  allowing a 30th ranked 32 points per game and a 29th ranked 429.7 yards with six interceptions, four sacks and three fumble recoveries.

Similarly, the Steelers lack of free agent signing and quality draft picks are starting to catch up with them, as injuries begin to widdle away at the team’s shallow depth. [soliloquy id=”82219″]

Veteran quarterback Ben Roethlisberger has led the team, completing 60.4 percent of his passes with four touchdowns and four interceptions — and like this Sunday’s counterpart — has been sacked 10 times.

The notorious Pittsburgh passing attack is falling apart with just three touchdowns and the run game is mediocre at best with a backfield that is producing an average of just three yards per carry.

Defensively the Steelers are not as bad, allowing 25.3 points per game and a fifth ranked 298 yards, but are forcing very few turnovers.

Matt’s Free Prediction

The Vikings have a lot of work to do on both sides of the ball, and the long trip to Wembley isn’t going to help matters.

The Pittsburgh offense has been little to no help to the defense and I really don’t see any big changes in just week.

One year ago this matchup may have been a treat for UK football fans, but this year it’s a stinker.

The total in this one seems high considering both offenses are struggling to put points on the board.

So, one turnover wins this one, so I have to go with the Vikings and the under.

Vikings 24, Steelers 17
