Denver is coming off a 49-27 win over the Ravens, behind  Manning’s record-tying seven-touchdown performance that helped the Broncos erase a three-point deficit with a stunning second-half performance.

Manning finished with 462 yards overall, connecting with wide receiver Wes Welker nine different times for 67 yards and two TDs in his Broncos debut.

Tight end Julius Thomas added provided some assistance, hauling in five receptions for 110 yards and two scores.

Meanwhile, the Broncos defense had four sacks and two interceptions and could wreck havoc on a Giants offense that struggled through a mistake-filled 36-31 loss to the Cowboys in Week 1.

The G-men turned the ball over six times, including three interceptions by Eli Manning, who still managed to pass for 450 yards and four touchdowns. [soliloquy id=”82219″]

His favorite target was Victor Cruz, who hauled in three touchdown receptions, while Hakeem Nicks and Rueben Randle each caught for over 100 yards.

The running game, meanwhile, was terrible, with starter David Wilson coughing up two fumbles and being benched.

The defense didn’t perform any better, as it appeared at times unable to stop the Cowboys  offense after the first quarter.

The Giants could be shorthanded on that side of the ball on Sunday, as its defensive backfield could be without cornerback Prince Amukamara who suffered a concussion versus Dallas.

Matt’s Free Prediction

The Broncos arrive in New York riding a 12-game regular-season winning streak, the longest in the NFL. Still the odds makers have the Broncos as just four-point favorites.

That’s probably because Eli Manning has thrown for 12 TDs and the Giants have averaged 44 points in winning their last three home games.

And even though I’d like to think that Peyton has somehow rediscovered the play from his heyday with the Colts, I don’t expect him to put up another seven touchdowns in a single game anytime soon.

However, Welker has 20 catches in his last two regular-season games versus New York and I think he’ll have a huge day in the Big Apple, improving the Broncos record to 2-0.

Broncos 38, Giants 24.
