San Diego, will look to take advantage of Miami’s on and off field issues, in an efforts to snap their own two-game slide and jump back into the wild-card race.

The Chargers (4-5) have not won at Miami since 1982, and have dropped four out of five on the road, and things got even worse last weekend, when they suffered their lone home game loss last week to the Denver Broncos, 28-20.

The San Diego defense collapsed, allowing Peyton Manning to pass for 330 yards and four touchdowns in a scene that is becoming common for a pass defense that ranks near the bottom of the league.

Offensively, quarterback Philip Rivers is right on track to set career highs in completion percentage but recorded as many interceptions (five) as touchdowns in San Diego’s last three losses. He could however, have a record-setting day against a Dolphins secondary that has struggled at times through the air.

Meanwhile. Miami’s (4-5) offense has been plagued with losses, especially along its offensive line.

Those losses were felt in the running game on Monday, when the Dolphins managed a total of two yards on 14 carries.

To make matters worse, quarterback Ryan Tannehill was sacked twice on the team’s final possession. He has taken 37 sacks this season – the most in the NFL.

Defensively, the Dolphins are struggling as well and will face their toughest test this season against a very capable offense.

Matt’s Free Prediction

The Dolphins Richie Incognito saga has turned into a nightmare as the depleted Miami offensive line made for a terrible Monday night showing in Tampa Bay.

Why the oddmakers have Miami as the favorite can only suggest the assume the Chargers are on even keel with the Dolphins right now and home field advantage will prevail.

That simply isn’t true.

Chargers 21, Dolphins 10
