The Saints are coming off their sixth win it their last seven, following a dominating performance over Dallas last week, while San Francis had its five-game winning streak snapped by the Panthers a week ago, falling 10-9.

Quarterback Colin Kaepernick took the blunt for most of the criticism after he went 11 for 22 for 91 yards with an interception and was sacked six times versus the Panthers.

Meanwhile, New Orleans (7-2) has no concerns about its offense, as quarterback Drew Brees and company rolled up a franchise-record 625 total yards against the Cowboys and rank second in the NFL in total yards and scoring. Brees has now thrown at least two touchdown passes in 21 consecutive home games, an NFL record.

His favorite target has been rookie receiver Kenny Stills has become a key part of the offense with four TD receptions in the past four games. He and Marques Colston, who only needs 12 receiving yards to pass Eric Martin for the most in franchise history have shattered opposing defenses.

The Saints are mixing it up in the ground attack as well, with Pierre Thomas, Mark Ingram, and Darren Sproles all getting carries with Thomas catching 46 passes and Sproles catching 44.

Defensively, the Saints are much improved from a year ago, but need to improved their turnover ratio, with no takeaways n the past two outings.

The while need to stay sharp against a San Francisco offense that has the ability to explode, topping 30 points in all six win their wins this season.

Matt’s Free Prediction

Kaepernick’s receiving corps are getting healthier, as Mario Manningham played last week and Michael Crabtree has returned to practice and is eligible to come off the reserve list.

The defense already ranks fourth in points allowed with17.2 points and 316.8 yards per game. and should get a boost as linebacker Aldon Smith returns as well.

While both teams have weapons on offense this one goes to the defense and the under.

49ers 27, Saints 20
