That means another week for QB Kirk Cousins, who’s thrown for a bunch of yards – but his fair share of brain farts, too.

Titans

Luckily for the nation’s capital, the recent forecast for the Titans has been far more stormy. Tennessee “escaped” with a narrow win against awful Jacksonville last week; really the Titans have been playing the polar opposite of inspired football.

Players like WR Kendall Wright, while loaded with talent and promise, have failed to perform because of Tennessee’s miserable QB play. The fact Jake Locker was still a starting pivot in the NFL at any point this season is rather astounding.

With yet another recent injury for Locker, the Titans have been forced to turn to veteran – though career backup – Charlie Whitehurst. The former Clemson product had the lowest QBR of any winning pivot last week; that stat accurately explains Whitehurst’s potential as an NFL starter.

Without a proper QB, the Titans are not much to worry about. Washington has been pretty lousy in its own right, but with Cousins throwing to a solid stable that includes Pierre Garcon, DeSean Jackson, Niles Paul and Jordan Reed, it should keep a strong Redskins’ passing game humming.

Redskins

In addition to the aerial threat, the ‘Skins have trusty RB Alfred Morris, who has quietly emerged as one of the steadier options at his position in the league.

The defense is only average, and to be fair, DC’s only victory this season also came versus Jacksonville. Not exactly a rousing endorsement for either club playing at RFK this weekend.

For the Titans to have any hope, the functional RB duo of rookie Bishop Sankey and Shonn Greene must have a big day getting into Washington’s second level. The one thing there is for the Titans are a couple of big, nasty O-lineman – they must capitalize on that.

Tight end Delanie Walker would also have to deliver another big performance in a season that has been a breakout for him (29 receptions for 421 yards and 3 TDs) to date.

NFL Week 7 Gambling Trends

* TEN are 1-8-2 ATS in their last 11 games overall.
* TEN are 1-5-2 ATS in their last 8 games on grass.
* Under is 6-2 in TEN last 8 games overall.
* WAS are 3-8 ATS in their last 11 games on grass.
* WAS are 4-10 ATS in their last 14 games overall.
* Under is 17-8-1 in WAS last 26 games in October.

Regardless, Washington’s ability to score points should trump Tennessee’s ability to do, well, not much. Expect DC to grab the home win in a hope to build some form of momentum before Griffin returns.
