The Steelers look to continue the momentum they gained in their first 11 games this weekend on the other side of their bye week. Meanwhile, the Saints are in desperate need of something to jumpstart what has been a disastrous season in an NFC South division that is there for the taking.

While the Saints are technically second in the NFC South, possessing a matching 4-7 record to that of Atlanta, they do not hold the tiebreaker, the Steelers find themselves behind the division leader in a strange manner as well, as the Cincinnati Bengals’ tie against the Carolina Panthers has them ahead of a trio of 7-4 teams in the AFC North.

The Saints had been comfortably ahead in their division at 4-4, coming off their first road win of the season and entering a three-game home stand at the Superdome, where they have dominated in recent years, but Monday night’s 34-27 loss to the Baltimore Ravens capped off a three-game home losing streak for New Orleans.

The Steelers were able to grab a win heading into their bye week, but they certainly could have looked more impressive in their win over the Tennessee Titans.

It’s at home where quarterback Ben Roethlisberger has been at his best, throwing for 18 touchdowns and one interception while compiling a 130.5 passer rating at home, so it’s possible a return to Heinz Field recharges his battery.

No team has generated more offense at home than the Steelers, who churn out 447.2 yards per game at Heinz Field, while the Saints ranked third in offense on the road at 418.0 yards per game.

Free Pittsburgh vs. New Orleans Pick:

New Orleans gets a bad rap for their ability to play on the road, but the Steelers are simply in a whole other class than the Saints are right now.

  • The Steelers are 8-3 ATS in their last 11 home games, and 6-1 ATS in their last seven home games against opponents with a losing road record.
  • The Saints are 4-9 ATS in their last 13 road games, and 0-5 ATS in their last five games in the month of November.
  • The under is 7-3 in the Steelers’ last 10 games against opponents with a losing record, and it is 7-1 in the Saints’ last eight game played on grass.

4* FREE Play: Steelers -5, Under 54

Neither offense has looked particularly effective of late, and the Steelers’ defense is about to send in the cavalry with a number of starters having healed up over the bye and set to return in this one, so the total seems a tad exaggerated.
