The turnover story has been different for both sides as well, as the undefeated Texans are tied for second in the league in turnover differential, while the Giants rank last in that category. The Texans finished last season 2-14, though it was their first two games that they won before losing 14 in a row.

Last season the Texans ranked dead last in football in turnover margin at minus-20, and currently sit at plus-5. A week ago they recorded two interceptions and recovered two fumbles in a 30-14 road win over the Oakland Raiders.

Another big return to form for the team which went 22-10 in 2011 and 2012 has been the play of running back Arian Foster, who ran for 138 yards and a score a week ago as part of the team’s 188 rushing yard performance. The team ranks eighth in football in rushing yards through two weeks.

The team’s defense has also stepped up in a big way, as the team has allowed the fewest points in the league, surrendering just 20 through two weeks. That unit is going to pose a problem for a Giants team that led the league with 44 turnovers a year ago.

The Giants lead the league in turnovers against this season, giving the ball away six times, and having not forced a turnover on defense, they sit at minus-six in turnover differential. It was a late fumble by running back Rashad Jennings that sunk the team a week ago in their 25-14 loss to the Arizona Cardinals.

Free New York vs. Houston Pick:

The Texans have just been the better all-around squad through two weeks. The Giants have looked like an absolute disaster, struggling mightily to pick up their new offense, while also looking vulnerable in their re-built secondary.

[dfads params=’groups=63752&limit=1&return_javascript=0′]

As for the total, both teams have worked hard to establish their running games, and that means each will also be attacking the strength of the opposing defense. The clock will spend a lot of time running in this one, which will help keep this one under the number.

The Texans are 8-1-1 ATS in their last 10 games following a win of more than 14 points, while the Giants are 0-6-1 ATS in their last seven games played in the month of September.

The under is 10-2 in the Giants’ last 12 games against opponents with a winning record, and it is 4-1 in the Giants’ last five home games.

The 4* NFL Play: Texans -2, Under 41.5
