The Cowboys have seemingly tried hard for years to establish DeMarco Murray on the ground with a level of consistency, and with the team’s offensive line really coming together nicely this season and establishing itself as one of the top units in the league, Murray has finally been able to consistently pick up big yardage on the ground.

[dfads params=’groups=63753&limit=1&return_javascript=0′]

Murray currently leads the league in rushing with 285 yards through two games after rushing for 167 yards on a career-high 29 carries in last Sunday’s 26-10 win in Tennessee over the Titans.

Murray’s emergence has helped take some of the pressure off of Tony Romo, who is dealing with a bad back.

[dfads params=’groups=66501&limit=1&return_javascript=0′]

Romo has been sacked seven times, a mark which matches the second-highest total in the league, behind only Jacksonville. Romo needed to throw for only 176 yards in the Cowboys’ win over the Titans.

The Cowboys would surely like to see similar results in St. Louis on Sunday. The Rams have had trouble stopping the run, allowing 342 yards on the ground, the third-worst mark in football through two weeks. The team allowed a 100-yard rusher in each of its first two games.

For Murray, he has shown an ability to run the ball against these Rams, churning out a franchise-record 253 yards against them in a 34-7 rout in 2011, and compiling 175 yards in a 31-7 victory last season.

As for the Rams, they are expected to turn back to Shaun Hill at quarterback. The veteran suffered a thigh injury in the team’s opener, and rookie Austin Davis completed 22-of-29 passes for 235 yards in his first career start last Sunday.

Free St. Louis vs. Dallas Pick:

The Cowboys entered this season with a lot of question marks, but they’ve been bettered than advertised, and that starts on the defensive side of the ball, where they haven’t been the sieve everyone thought they would be, while the Rams haven’t been able to cope with the loss of Sam Bradford.

[dfads params=’groups=63752&limit=1&return_javascript=0′]

The Cowboys’ defense likely gives up some points in this one after playing above their heads over the last six quarters, while the Cowboys’ offense has shown that they face little resistance when facing this Rams teams.

The Cowboys are 5-2 ATS in their last seven Week 3 games, while the Rams are 1-6 ATS in their last seven Week 3 games.

The over is 6-0 in the Cowboys’ last six games after allowing fewer than 15 points in their previous game, and it is 6-2 in their last eight games on turf.

The 4* NFL Play: Dallas +1, Over 44.5
