Philadelphia Eagles vs. New York Giants 1:00 ET

The defending Super Bowl champion New York Giants (12-4, 12-4 ATS) get a chance to atone for the sin they committed back in Week 14 when the Philadelphia Eagles (10-6-1, 11-6 ATS) march into the Meadowlands for a second visit. It’s not often that a pair of division rivals get to square off for a third time in the same season, but that’s exactly where head coach Andy Reid’s Eagles and head coach Tom Coughlin’s Giants find themselves in this afternoons NFL betting affair.

Bookmaker Sportsbook currently has the NY Giants installed as four-point home favorites with a game ‘total’ of 40 points for this Divisional Playoff battle.

If you’re looking a bit further into the future, Bookmaker’s got your Super Bowl XLIII and NFC/AFC Championship future bets covered as well. Philadelphia currently kicks back a modest +265 return to be the last team standing in the NFC and a +500 return to win the Super Bowl. The Giants are currently the odds on favorites (+125) to win the NFC championship and a +325 underdog to hoist the Lombardi Trophy at the end of the season.

Amidst a ton of bad press due to Plaxico Burress’ unfortunate discharge in a nightclub, the Giants came out and laid an egg dropping their Week 14 contest to the visiting Eagles by a 20-14 final tally. The six point defeat by no means reflects how soundly they were beaten the entire game as NY never seriously threatened to cover the lofty 7.5-point spread, and the combined 34 points failed to surpass the 40.5 point closing ‘total.’

The Eagles SU and ATS victory saw them even up the season series after the Giants marched into the City of Brotherly Love and soundly beat the Eagles by a 36-31 final count as three-point road underdogs; the combined 67 points flew past the 42.5-point closing ‘total’.

The underdog has dominated this NFC East rivalry of late, as it’s a perfect 8-0 ATS the L/8 times these teams have faced one another. The Giants hold a 5-3 SU and ATS mark during that stretch. Keen NFL bettors must also be aware of the road team’s prowess as the visitor has cashed pointspread tickets in 6 of the L/7 overall meetings. However, the Giants went a solid 7-1 SU and 6-2 ATS as a home favorite this season, while the Eagles struggled overall on the road compiling 3-4-1 SU and 4-4 ATS marks during the regular season.

With these divisional rivals so familiar with one another, the ‘under’ has played a prominent role cashing in 4 of the L/5 meetings. It’s also a $$$-making 10-2 O/U the L/12 times these teams have squared off in the Meadowlands.

Will Philadelphia keep its torrid streak intact and pick up another impressive road win at Giants Stadium, or will New York protect its house and play like the team that dominated the league the first three months of the regular season?
