The Giants have won four in a row including a win last time out against Green Bay to put themselves back in the race while the Cowboys are coming off a much needed bye and an ugly loss to the New Orleans Saints in Week 10.

The Dallas Cowboys will play their first game Sunday since being destroyed 49-17 by New Orleans in a Week 10 Sunday Night Football disaster in which they gave up 40 first downs and 625 yards of offense. Defense has been the main problem for this team all season long and it could be this Sunday as well.

The Cowboys are yielding an NFL-worst 456.7 yards per game and 25.8 points per game – hard to believe that they are still in the playoff hunt. Injuries can be blamed for sure but poor execution is as much of an issue as the replacement players on the field. The bye should have provided ample opportunity to straighten a few things out – improvement is paramount for this team to continue to be competitive.

The Dallas Cowboys offense has been good this year although they have been guilty at times of abandoning the run and they have shot themselves in the foot more than their share with costly turnovers. But Tony Romo has completed 64.6 percent of his passes for 2,681 yards with 21 touchdowns and six interceptions. Demarco Murray has rushed for 548 yards and four touchdowns, Dez Bryant has 52 caches and eight touchdowns and Jason Witten has 47 catches and four touchdowns – quite an arsenal!

The Giants were awful during their six game losing streak to start the season. Heading into Week 12 team has been outscored 256-192 this season with 29 turnovers – ugly. But Eli Manning has thrown just two interceptions during their current four-game run, compared to the 15 interceptions he tossed during the team’s 0-6 start. Additionally Manning had his best game against these Cowboys in Week 1 – 27 of 42 for 450 yards, four touchdowns and three interceptions in a season-opening 36-31 loss at Dallas in which New York committed six turnovers.

Last time out in the 27-13 victory over the Green Bay Packers – Eli Manning was 25-of-35 with 279 yards and a touchdown, New York’s defense had three interceptions, and the Giants didn’t allow a passing touchdown for the fourth-straight game – stunning numbers when considering where this team was defensively just a month ago! Andre Brown is back and looking solid and Eli looks to have turned the corner – a good sign for this team heading down the stretch.

Defensively the Giants have been just as bad as the Cowboys – 25.6 points and 336.1 yards per game but they are minus 11 in turnover ratio. Jason Pierre Paul and company have picked things up most recently – it’s no coincidence that the G-Men are back in the race.

Betting Prediction:

A few trends to consider:

• DAL are 9-3 ATS in their last 12 games in Week 12.
• DAL are 7-3 ATS in their last 10 games overall.
• Under is 11-5 in DAL last 16 road games.
• NYG are 3-9-1 ATS in their last 13 games in Week 12.
• Over is 7-2 in the last 9 meetings.
• Over is 7-3-1 in the last 11 meetings in New York.

The Giants have committed a league-high 29 turnovers while the Cowboys have forced 22 to tie for the NFL’s fourth-best mark. Dallas has also committed an NFC-low 11 turnovers. That’s the difference Sunday! Although the Giants have done a better job of taking care of the ball as of late – they are still as turnover prone as any team in the league.

The underdog has traditionally done well in this series – I see the trend continuing Sunday!

Pick: Dallas Cowboys +2 1/2
