NFL Final Thoughts Weekender – Can Byron Leftwich Lead the Steelers?

The BetUS online sportsbook hasn’t released online odds on the Indianapolis Colts vs. Pittsburgh Steelers game because quarterback Ben Rothelisberger may or may not start for the Steelers.

It’s a huge game. Sports betting fans will definitely want to take a look at it once the BetUS online sportsbook releases online wagering odds.

Even without online odds, it’s worth discussing as are some of the other games below.

Let’s get some final thoughts in!

Indianapolis Colts vs. Pittsburgh Steelers – – The online odds aren’t available yet, but it won’t matter. The Colts beat the Patriots at home after struggling. Pittsburgh won’t let them get close in this one. I like the Steelers at whatever online odds this ends up at because Leftwich can play just as well against that Colts’ D as Big Ben. How do I know? The Colts can’t stop the run. The Steelers can run all day.

New Orleans Saints vs. Atlanta Falcons – – Saints + 1 against the spread – – The Falcons have been a surprise since pretty much week one of the NFL season. The Saints have been a disappointment. This is a huge game in the NFC South and the Saints are coming off of a bye. I just don’t see them dropping this game against a defensive Falcons’ team that’s going to find it very difficult to stop Drew Brees and Co. I like the Saints.

Buffalo Bills vs. New England Patriots – – Patriots – 4 against the spread – – Football betting fans have to appreciate how the Pats have improved in their passing game week to week. I just don’t see how the Bills get past that. The Patriots are the better team at this point. That means Buffalo continues to slide in the AFC after starting out hot.

Green bay Packers vs. Minnesota Vikings – – Packers + 2 against the spread – – I like the Packers to beat the Vikings straight-up on the BetUS money-line at + 110. The Vikings looked good in the first half against the Houston Texans last week but they almost melted down and gave it up in the second half. What’s with that? Also, the Packers are just the better team.

Tennessee Titans vs. Chicago Bears – – Bears + 3 ½ against the spread – – The Bears have a chance to win this game outright. The online sportsbook betting odds on that is + 125. Tennessee has shown some weaknesses the past two weeks and Bears’ starting quarterback Rex Grossman used to be an okay signal caller in this league.

New York Giants vs. Philadelphia Eagles – – Giants + 3 against the spread – – I love Donovan McNabb and the Eagles but I don’t love them in this game. Any time you can get the Giants at + 130 or higher on the money-line you had better take that online bet. That’s what I’m going to do.

San Francisco 49’ers vs. Arizona Cardinals – – 49’ers + 10 against the spread – – Am I out of my mind? Yes. My hope is that Mike Singletary shows up nude for kick-off, the 49’ers are so motivated that they strip the ball away from the Cardinals and run it in for a touchdown. Then Singletary can put his clothes back on. Seriously, I just can’t give any team against Arizona 10 points. I’ll believe in this Cards when I see it.
