Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. Dallas Cowboys Preview

The Cowboys’ offense stalled, as they only scored a grand total of 7 points against the Seahawks, who are not known for their D. NFL lines have the Cowboys as 8-point favorites with a total of 46.

Josh Freeman passed for 243 yards with 2 TD in the loss to the Giants, but he also was picked off twice and was only 2/10 on 3rd down conversions. Vincent Jackson showed why the team paid big bucks to get him with 128 receiving yards and a TD last week. The Bucs’ offensive line must play well to keep DeMarcus Ware out of the backfield and they also need to key on Sean Lee, who ranks 2nd in the league in tackles.

While Dallas has a solid pass defense ranking 3rd in the league their run defense only ranks 23rd. Tampa Bay first round pick Doug Martin has not played very well so far this season and last week against the Giants he only rushed for 66 yards averaging 3.3 yards per carry.

Tony Romo has a solid WR corps and he did not play badly last week, but he needs some help from the running game. DeMarco Murray really struggled against the Seahawks and their solid run defense last week and how will he fare this week? [soliloquy id=”82219″]

The Bucs have a Jekyll and Hyde defense, as they rank 3rd in the league defending the run, but dead last defending the pass. Last week they allowed New York’s Eli Manning to pass for over 500 yards. That is a huge concern, as Romo will likely have a lot of time in the pocket since the Bucs only have 3 sacks on the season.

The Bucs have lost 8 straight road games.

In some betting trends for this NFC match up the Bucs are 3-9 ATS in their last 12 games overall, 1-4 ATS in their last 5 road games, and they have an Over record of 4-0 in their last 4 games.

The Cowboys are 2-7 ATS in their last 9 games overall, 1-4 ATS in their last 5 home games, and they have an Under record of 5-0 in their last 5 games.

Jason’s Pick: I hate to go with the Cowboys since I am not a fan of America’s Team, but I think Romo will torch the Bucs’ secondary and Dallas will easily y win and cover the spread.
