NFL Betting – Week 10 Parlay

Well, NFL betting sharps, there’s no way around it: we’re in a slump. The Packers and Giants broke our hearts last week. Maybe our luck will reverse in honor of Friday the 13th this weekend.
Let’s get back on the NFL picks horse.
STEELERS (-7) over BENGALS
The Bengals’ list of victims includes Baltimore twice, Green Bay, Pittsburgh and Chicago. It’s simply not fair to call the Cardiac Cats lucky anymore. They do everything pretty well – run the ball with Cedric Benson, pass the ball with Carson Palmer, stop the run and stop the pass. However, I don’t see them being the better team this week. The Week 10 Pittsburgh Steelers are a much different team than the Week 3 incarnation that lost in Cincy. Troy Polamalu is back patrolling the secondary. The Steelers are stopping the run like no one else, allowing a ridiculous 70.4 yards per game despite facing Benson, Adrian Peterson and Chris Johnson already this year.
That’s over 100 fewer yards per game than the Bills allow. Now that Rashard Mendenhall is running like 2005 Larry Johnson, teams can’t key on Big Ben Roethlisberger; he could burn the Bengals on playaction. The Steelers look like champs again and make for solid sportsbook picks.
COWBOYS (-3) over PACKERS
Will Aaron Rodgers wake up in a body cast Monday morning? The Tampa Bay Buccaneers sacked him six times last week. That’s not a misprint. The Pack are on pace to allow 74 sacks in 2009, which would beat their previous franchise worst by 12. What will happen, then, when they face a real pass rush? The Cowboys are frothing at the mouth after sacking Donovan McNabb four times in Week 9.
If you play fantasy football, DaMarcus Ware and Jay Ratliff are great IDP plays. Green Bay will keep a lid on Tony Romo but Rodgers simply won’t have time to throw. The Cowboys will win with defense.
PATRIOTS +2.5 over COLTS
The Colts have enjoyed a fluffy schedule so far and could be in trouble this week with multiple injuries in their secondary. The Pats are brimming with confidence now and Tom Brady will likely take some big shots downfield to Randy Moss. Brady will see plenty of pressure from Dwight Freeney and Robert Mathis but New England’s line can handle aggressive defenses; the Jets and Ravens combined for one sack on Brady earlier this year.
Peyton Manning and the Colts will score points too, as New England doesn’t rush the passer well, but I like the Pats to edge Indy in what should be a classic – better than Pacquiao Cotto betting. The Colts won’t stay down for long, though.
