Baltimore Ravens vs. Washington Redskins Gambling Prediction & Week 14 Preview

Ravens vs Redskins NFL Football Spread/Handicapping

Even though these teams are in the same state they haven’t met since 2008.  Baltimore is the vastly more experienced team but Washington is hotter coming into this one.

Baltimore

The Ravens are 9-3 after an unexpected loss to injury riddled Pittsburgh last week.   They still own a nice 2 game lead in the division and have a great chance to finish the season as the #2 seed in the AFC.  Despite their success it seems like the opinion on this team is pretty flat these days.

Some close victories are forcing us to question this team’s ceiling…The same can be said for QB Joe Flacco.

This was supposed to be the year the shackles came off but we are mostly seeing what we always have.  Since getting off to a hot start he has topped 188 yards passing just 3 times in the past 8 games.

The team is sound defensively but the offense has let them down on more than one occasion this season…

That is why the ATS record is nothing to speak of, just 5-6-1.  This is just the third time this season they have been dogs, they lost the previous two covering once.

I like Baltimore when they are underestimated, especially against a rookie quarterback.

Washington

Washington collected a huge win last week against the Giants, damaging their rival and keeping them in the playoff picture for a while longer.   [soliloquy id=”82219″]

This team is building some momentum at this critical stage of the season and would be flying high if they can knock off the Ravens.

Despite recent success it is hard for me to see them in the favourite role this week…What a year it has been for rookie QBs and Robert Griffin is helping to lead the charge.

He was brilliant against New York last week showing great poise and playmaking skills.  He is supported by the most productive ground attack in the league with another rookie, running back Alfred Morris, already topping 1100 yards this season.

Griffin has contributed more than 700 yards on his own and could easily give Washington a second 1000 yard runner to boot…Given the Skins success this season I thought their ATS record would be stronger than 7-5.

They have had to win their last 3 SU and ATS to get there.

This is a must win for Washington if they want to sneak into the playoffs this season which looks like it has a couple of gimmes.
