Baltimore Ravens vs. San Francisco 49ers Preview
The 49ers got down early in the NFC title game, but their D came up big in the 2nd half and their offense came alive to secure the win. NFL lines have the 49ers as 3.5-point favorites with a total of 47.
In their respective conference title games the 49ers beat the Atlanta Falcons 28-24 and the Ravens beat the New England Patriots 28-13.

The 49ers are 14-8 ATS with an Over/Under record of 13-8-1 and the Ravens are at 11-11-1 ATS with an Over/Under record of 13-10.
Colin Kaepernick was solid in the Falcons win and unlike the previous one he did not have to carry the team with his legs. He passed for 233 yards with 1 TD and 0 INT and only rushed for 21 yards. TE Vernon Davis was his top target in the game and he and Michael Crabtree are guys the Ravens’ secondary have to key on. While Kaepernick did not have a big rushing game against Atlanta the Ravens cannot let him tear them apart on the ground like he did against Packers in the 49ers first playoff win.[soliloquy id=”82219″]
The key for the Ravens’ defense may be stopping the run, as the 49ers will look to dominate the game on the ground. Frank Gore rushed for 90 yards against the Falcons and LaMichael James chimed in for 38. Ray Lewis and the Ravens’ defense did have 2 INT in the New England game and came up with some big plays, but they still gave up over 100 rushing yards and they gave up 320 passing yards.
Joe Flacco has been en fuego in the Ravens run to the Super Bowl with over 850 passing yards in 3 games with 8 TD and 0 INT. The WR duo of Anquan Boldin and Torrey Smith are his main weapons and if the San Francisco run defense plays well Flacco will have to play great for Baltimore to win the big game. Aldon Smith (19.5 sacks) leads the solid San Fran pass rush, which the Ravens’ offensive line really has to worry about.
Not only is the San Francisco run defense solid, but Ravens’ RB Ray Rice did not play well in the AFC title game. Luckily Bernard Pierce stepped up to rush for 52 yards and these 2 will spit carries again. It is key that these guys run the ball well so the Ravens’ offense is not a one-dimensional one.
