2015 Seahawks Preview & NFL Football Future Lines & Pick

2015 Seattle Seahawks Season Predictions

The Seattle Seahawks enter the 2015-2016 NFL season with typically lofty goals and seemingly few reasons to think that those goals aren’t completely attainable. The Hawks remain one of the best coached teams in the game, they have a balanced offense that added a key piece in the offseason and they still own one of the best defenses in the game.

And then there is the experience factor at the top level – the Hawks have won the NFC two straight years and will be out to avenge one of the most disheartening losses most have ever seen – to the Patriots in last year’s Super Bowl.

Can the Seahawks do it again? Are they still the team to beat in the NFC and the NFL?

Let’s take a look.

2015 Seahawks Season Preview

Perhaps the biggest concern for the Seahawks ahead of this season is the lack of a contract for Russell Wilson so far. Although a deal is apparently close, not having the franchise QB locked up is at least a little reason for concern.

That said you have to think that he is going to be there in Week 1. That’s good news. Other good news comes in the realization that Wilson didn’t lose his Offensive Coordinator in the offseason – Darrell Bevell will still be there to call the plays which gives some continuity to Russell Wilson and the offense.

Want more good news? The Hawks went out and got one of the more physically imposing, athletic Tight Ends in the game to help them out in the Red Zone – Jimmy Graham. With Graham’s size and pass catching abilities, Russell Wilson’s creativity and the fact that the Hawks will still have Marshawn Lynch handing the ball out of the backfield, the Hawks look dangerous indeed offensively.

There has been talk of Marshawn Lynch being on the downswing with the amount of punishment he’s endured over the years. Don’t worry about Lynch – he is certain to find more room with the Jimmy Graham factor playing a part. Lynch will be a big part of the game again – hopes are that the Hawks use him where he is at his best – not like they did (or didn’t) in the waning moments of last year’s Super Bowl!!!

Complementing what seems to be like a pretty sound offense is Seattle’s terrorizing defense. Richard Sherman and Earl Thomas are each at the very top of their respective positions in the NFL and the supporting cast is deep and it’s talented. The Hawks were a top-three defense the last couple of years and despite losing two Defensive Coordinators in two years should be just fine.

Seahawks 2015 Predictions:

It is pretty hard not to get excited about the Seattle Seahawks this season – the one piece that was missing is now there in the form of Jimmy Graham. Other teams in the NFC West have taken a step back (San Francisco) while others two should be competitive at very least.

That said the NFC West is Seattle’s to lose – 12 wins for this team is easily attainable. I don’t see them losing at home this year, meaning they would have to go .500 on the road to get to 12-4 (Vegas has the win total at 11).

That leaves the playoffs and how far the Hawks can go. In my eye, they are the team to beat – period. Right now it looks like a battle between them and Green Bay. Home field will be absolutely enormous this year – my bet is that the Hawks finish with a better record than Green Bay.

I’m taking the Hawks to win home field and the NFC and to avenge last year’s defeat in the Super Bowl. There will be a lot of talk of a Seattle Dynasty after this year, and rightfully so.
