The last time the Ravens took the field, they were walking off wondering what could have been as they blew their AFC Semi Final game in New England as they coughed up a 2nd half lead.

The Ravens have made the playoffs 6 of the last seven years, but getting back into the Superbowl is now the only satisfaction they will have.

The Ravens have a lot of shoes to fill following an offseason that saw a lot of changes. Offensive Coordinator Gary Kubiak departed to become the Denver Broncos Head Coach. The Ravens prided themselves on the offensive of the ball, which means the shoes of Kubiak will tough to fill.

In terms of players, DT Haloti Ngata was traded away to the Lions. His talent was there, but he never really fit into the Ravens system.

As far as free agents are concerned, Torrey Smith and Pernell McPhee were both signed elsewhere. Still with everything and all these departed players, the Ravens believe they have the depth to win the AFC North.

That starts with the QB. Joe Flacco has proven himself as one of the most elite QBs in the game. In 2014, Flacco threw for 3986 yards and 27 touchdowns. He had 4 touchdowns against the Patriots, but his 2 interceptions both proved to be vital ones.

At running back, the Ray Rice era is now officially over. With that, the Ravens have found a solid replacement in Justin Forsett. After signing a new deal, the Ravens showed they were committed to Forsett, which should give him a little relief. In 2014, he rushed for 1266 yards and 8 touchdowns. He’ll have a lot of depth behind him, but for now, he will be the go to guy.

Replacing Torrey Smith out wide is going to be a tough task. The Ravens will go with Steve Smith and Kamar Aiken. Smith offers some veteran leadership and still has some of his playmaking abilities. He’ll likely be the #1 go to target for Flacco. Aiken only had 24 receptions in 2014, but will have to adapt to a much bigger role this season.

As far as the defense is concerned, it is still as good as ever, even without Ngata. In 2014, Elvis Dumervil and Terrell Suggs combined for 29 sacks. The duo is expected to perform right at that level in 2015.

The secondary is a question mark because of all the injuries that occurred in 2014. With the same core back, the likes of Jimmy Smith and Lardarius Webb will have a chance to play 100% healthy.

2015 Baltimore Ravens Season Prediction:

The Ravens have one of the most grueling schedules in 2015. The biggest question mark for them lies within the receivers. Torrey Smith was such a playmaker it’s going to be hard to replace his numbers.

If anything though, Joe Flacco can make his receivers better. Along with Forsett taking some pressure off them, the offense is just fine.

Expect Baltimore to be a nine- or 10-win team and playoff contenders once again.
