2015 Jaguars Preview & NFL Football Future Lines & Pick

2015 Jacksonville Jaguars Season Predictions

The Jacksonville Jaguars have been stuck in the AFC cellar for a long time now. Since the 2010 season, the Jags have just 14 wins to 50 losses and have had zero success on both sides of the ball. Over the past 2 seasons, the Jags have won just 7 games combined.

The hope and optimism is there though as they have the pieces and tools to be good.

The Jaguars believe they have found their franchise QB in Blake Bortles out of Central Florida. Bortles’ numbers in 2014 weren’t up to what the front office wanted from him as he threw for 2908 yards and 11 touchdowns, but also threw 17 interceptions which was the eventual downfall.

He showed off some solid dual ability as he rushed for 419 yards, but had no touchdowns and 3 fumbles to his name.

Bortles cannot have a repeat of these numbers in 2015. This being his 2nd year, he should be much more settled down and ready to compete.

As far as the running back position is concerned, the Jaguars drafted TJ Yeldon. The big back out of Alabama is poised to fit in nicely to the Jags system and could be a definite game changer.

Health will be a major key for the Jaguars receiving corp. 2nd year veterans Marqise Lee and Allen Robinson both suffered major injuries last season and had them missing considerable time.

The Jaguars lack a lot of depth here, which puts even more pressure on Lee and Robinson to perform better and stay healthy.

As a team in 2014, Jacksonville had some of the worst offensive numbers.

They averaged just 289.6 yards a game (31) and only 187.6 pass yards a game (31). Their 15.6 points a game ranked dead last in the NFL and they were rarely in any of their games.

Defensively, the numbers don’t get much better. They allowed 370.8 yards a game (26) and 25.8 points (26). Although the numbers aren’t pretty, the defense can’t take all the blame for their failures.

The offense turned the ball over on their own side of the field many times, pretty much setting the defense up for failure.

2015 Jacksonville Jaguars Season Prediction:

Jacksonville TE Mercedes Lewis said it best, “Its time for us to do something, its just been too long.” The veterans are tired of the losing ways in Jacksonville.

With this being his 2nd year under center, Blake Bortles should be much better in his role. He’ll have a little help in the backfield with TJ Yeldon which should take some pressure off him.

However, the receivers are a major concern here for Jacksonville. Zero depth and 2 unhealthy starters isn’t a good combination.

That, the how bad the defense has been, the Jaguars don’t stand much of a chance this season.

Expect another 3 or 4 win season at best for them.
