The Josh McCown and Mike Glennon era is thankfully over in Tampa Bay – it’s Jameis Winston time Tampa. A top tier quarterback can change a lot of things for a team – the Buccaneers hope that Winston can be one of those special characters. There are still some holes on this team however heading into the 2015 season – who is going to emerge as a viable running back?

How will a defense ignored in the offseason hold the opposition down?
For the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Jameis Winston was their guy all along – his athleticism was just too much to pass up. Winston is immediate upgrade for the Bucs – for sure – the dude threw for nearly 8,000 yards and 65 touchdowns over two collegiate seasons.

Along with Mike Evens who lit the league up last year with 1,051 yards and 12 TDs and a still dangerous Vincent Jackson, the passing games has some weapons if Austin Seferian-Jenkins can stay healthy. Tampa has some nice playmaking receivers indeed if their rookie QB can get them the ball.
The running game for Tampa is still very much up in the air. Everyone is still waiting for Doug Martin to show us something- he hasn’t been great since a 2012 campaign in which he went for 1,454. Charles Sims is his backup – nothing to get excited about.

It will all come down to Tampa Bay’s O-line which, on paper is very good.
Donovan Smith at left tackle, Logan Mankins, acquired from New England at left guard, Evan Dietrich-Smith from Green Bay at center, second round pick Ali Marpet at right guard and Demar Dotson at right tackle looks pretty good.
That line should be able to give Winston some time to find his receivers and maybe open up some holes for Martin.

The defense. It was ignored in the offseason – this team doesn’t have much of a chance to stop anyone this year.
They have Gerald McCoy, definitely one of the top linemen in the NFL but that’s about it. Linebacker Lavonte David is back and armed with a new contract – he could make some plays as well but there is little or no help in the secondary.

The Tampa defense will be a glaring weakness this upcoming season – one that will cost the m ore than their share of games.
Buccaneers 2015 Prediction:
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will be an improved team – pretty easy task! Watch for them to do some good things this year – the future is definitely bright but for this team. That said the holes will be exposed early and often. Winston will live up to the hype but his defense won’t help him out in the least.
The Bucs are a 6-10 team this year – next year they build a defense in the draft and become formidable in 2016 – you watch!
