Cappers Picks NFL Power Rankings – Week 8 – October 24th 2013

Dave B’s NFL Power Rankings – Week 8

NFL Power Rankings – Where Every Team Sits After Week 7

Week 7 on the NFL season is in the books and last week’s results translated to a shakeup in the Power Rankings. There is just one undefeated team left – they are obviously the #1 team – a shock to everyone. The top 4 have all flip-flopped thanks to Sunday night’s marquee matchup while some new teams enter the Dirty Dozen this week.

Let`s take a look at where every teams stands in this week`s edition of Dave B`s Power Rankings

1. CHIEFS (Last Week: 2)

The Chiefs keep getting it done – the defense continues to be the biggest difference on this team. KC has a ton of swagger on offense as well – Jamaal Charles is dominant and Alex Smith looks like the best game manager in the game right now.

It’s hard to believe the Chiefs are the only unbeaten team in the league and are #1 this week.

2. SEAHAWKS (Last Week: 4)

Absolutely battered a decent Cardinals team on the road Thursday night and are now 3-1 away from home this year. The Hawks appear to be the class of the NFC and now have the honor of playing the decimated Rams in Week 8. There are zero holes on this team – Russell Wilson is guiding a top notch passing game, Marshawn Lynch continues to be the cornerstone of the offense and the defense is simply elite.

3. COLTS (Last Week: 6)

The Colts did the almost unthinkable in Week 7 – they beat the Broncos. They have now beaten Denver, Seattle and San Francisco this season – not too shabby! If Trent Richardson can get out of neutral this team could be #1 by season’s end.

4. BRONCOS (Last Week: 1)

What a game Sunday night! Most, including myself thought this team could go 16-0 this year but the defense continues to let them down. Emotions played a part in their first loss of the year – getting outplayed also contributed.

5. SAINTS (Last Week: 5)

Off their bye, they can’t lose a spot in the Rankings. Offensively this team is as advertised and the defense continues to exceed expectations. They look like the second best team in the NFC right now and deserve a top 5 ranking.

6. 49ERS (Last Week’s Ranking: 7)

The Niners have won four straight games in impressive fashion and are finding the form that we expected from this team before the season started. Colin Kaepernick hasn’t been great and is bound to get better and the defense has been without Aldon Smith and Patrick Willis and the team is still winning. The team is getting healthier every week and the schedule eases up a bit the next few weeks.

7. BENGALS (Last Week: 10)

With a 5-2 record the Bengals find themselves leading the AFC North. The offense is heating up – Andy Dalton is finally starting to find his groove. They lost Leon Hall to injury in Week 7 but there is little doubting this team is heating up mid-season.

8. PACKERS (Last Week: 8)

Don’t look now but the Packers are coming despite injuries all over the field. The defense has given up just 13 points per game the last three – surprising. And with Aaron Rodgers in the mix – this team is never out of a game. And how about Eddie Lacy!

9. PATRIOTS (Last Week: 3)

Beat the Saints and then lost to the Jets the very next week in one of the worst games Tom Brady has played in quite some time. Vince Wilfork, Jerod Mayo and Aqib Talib were out Sunday and the adjustments just weren`t there. But if not for a weird, costly penalty in overtime Sunday, this team may be a tad higher in the Rankings. [soliloquy id=”82219″]

10. LIONS (Last Week: 9)

Megatron to the rescue! The Lions may have their issues however going forward if the secondary doesn’t iron itself out. They lost a shootout to the Bengals in Week 7 and slip one in the rankings because of it. With Stafford, Megatron, Reggie Bush and Joseph Fauria it is hard to see anyone stopping this offense.

11. COWBOYS (Last Week: 15)

The Boys didn’t look great Sunday but they did hold an OK Eagles offense to just 3 points. Tony Romo passed for over 300 yards again and Dez Bryant looks like a difference maker all by himself. Dallas is better than their record and sits just outside the top 10 right now.

12. CHARGERS (Last Week: 17)

Philip Rivers continues his resurrection and the Ryan Matthews/Danny Woodhead combination continues to look solid. San Diego finds itself in the most difficult division in football but in Dave B’s Dirty Dozen this week.

13. BEARS (Last Week: 11)
14. RAVENS (Last Week: 12)
15. JETS (Last Week: 19)
16. DOLPHINS (Last Week: 13)
17. PANTHERS (Last Week: 22)
18. TITANS (Last Week: 14)
19. EAGLES (Last Week: 16)
20. FALCONS (Last Week: 26)
21. BILLS (Last Week: 25)
22. CARDINALS (Last Week: 20)
23. RAIDERS (Last Week 23)
24. STEELERS (Last Week: 27)
25. REDSKINS (Last Week: 28)
26. BROWNS (Last Week: 21)
27. RAMS (Last Week: 18)
28. TEXANS (Last Week: 24)
29. GIANTS (Last Week 30)
30. VIKINGS (Last Week: 29)
31. BUCCANEERS (Last Week: 31)
32. JAGUARS (Last Week: 32)
