Dave B’s NFL Power Rankings – Week 6

NFL Power Rankings – Where Every Team Sits After Week 5

Week 5 is done and as per usual there were no shortage of story lines in the NFL. More teams fell from the undefeated ranks, some teams continue to shock and Jacksonville – they continue to be Jacksonville.

For the first week this season there is some significant change in the top 10. Let`s take a look at where every teams stands in this week`s edition of Dave B`s Power Rankings

1. BRONCOS (Last Week: 1)

The Cowboys gave them a scare this week but Denver proved they can win a close game. The offense is simply unstoppable. If the defense ever gets their game back – I can’t see anyone touching this team.

2. SAINTS (Last Week: 3)

The Saints are still undefeated and the defense continues to be the biggest difference on this team. They have risen up to every challenge thus far and have succeeded with flying colors. New Orleans looks scary right now – like the best team in the NFC.

3. CHIEFS (Last Week: 5)

Still undefeated? Incredible. The defense is allowing just 11.6 points per game and Alex Smith is looking as solid as any QB in the game right now. The Chiefs have a powder puff schedule coming up and are a good bet to stay top 5 for the foreseeable future.

4. COLTS (Last Week: 6)

Great comeback against a very good Seattle team last week. The Colts are a serious contender and now have knocked off two NFC favorites – Seattle and the 49ers. Andrew Luck is an absolute Stud – the Colts enter the Top 5 for the first time this year!

5. SEAHAWKS (Last Week: 2)

No shame in losing to a very good Colts team – they weren`t going to win every game this year anyway! Truth be told, this team could be 5-0 and in absolute control in the NFC. They are 2-1 on the road this year and return home this week where they are dominant.

6. PATRIOTS (Last Week: 4)

Ugly offensive performance in Cincinnati has the Pats slip in the Rankings and fall from the undefeated ranks. Now they have to play the Saints and will need that offense to shine! The good news – they are getting healthier and should have a few studs back in the next few weeks.

7. 49ERS (Last Week’s Ranking: 9)

The Niners have played very well the last couple of game – 69 points combined against two good defenses. They have a pretty easy schedule coming up and should rise up the rankings each and every week. Where has the passing game gone though?

8. BENGALS (Last Week: 13)

Great defensive effort in a Week 5 win against New England. They have beaten Aaron Rodgers and Tom Brady the last couple of weeks and are certainly deserving of a Top 10 because of that. Now if AJ Green would snap out of his funk!!! – you Fantasy Footballers know what I mean!

9. PACKERS (Last Week: 15)

Beat Detroit at Lambeau AGAIN and climb into the top 10. But that was without Calvin Johnson in the lineup. Eddie Lacy and a dependable running game made a difference to this team in Week 5 – it looks as though they are back to normal. The loss of Clay Matthews for 4 weeks could hurt though! 10. LIONS (Last Week: 7)

The Lions are now 3-2 on the season and were forced to play without Calvin Johnson Sunday. They still played pretty well considering. There aren`t too many teams that are going to stop this offense. The defense has been formidable at times too!

11. RAVENS (Last Week: 18)

Beat a good Miami team Sunday and take a big jump up in the Rankings because of it. This team is better than they have been playing and should improve. Ray Rice and Bernard Pierce were better Sunday and the defense chipped in seven sacks – that`s more like the Ravens we know!

12. DOLPHINS (Last Week: 10)

The Fins have lost two straight games after a terrific start and now head into their bye to straighten a few things out. It was just two weeks ago that this team was top 5 in my Rankings – hard to believe.

13. BEARS (Last Week: 8)
14. TITANS (Last Week: 11)
15. COWBOYS (Last Week: 16)
16. TEXANS (Last Week: 12)
17. CARDINALS (Last Week: 23)
18. BROWNS (Last Week: 19)
19. EAGLES (Last Week: 22)
20. JETS (Last Week: 25)
21. RAMS (Last Week: 29)
22. FALCONS (Last Week: 17)
23. REDSKINS (Last Week: 24)
24. RAIDERS (Last Week 28)
25. CHARGERS (Last Week: 14)
26. BILLS (Last Week: 21)
27. VIKINGS (Last Week: 26)
28. PANTHERS (Last Week: 20)
29. STEELERS (Last Week: 27)
30. GIANTS (Last Week 30)
31. BUCCANEERS (Last Week: 31)
32. JAGUARS (Last Week: 32)
