2013 Oakland Raiders Complete Season Schedule | Handicapping

Raiders Schedule – NFL Football

Next up. The Oakland Raiders. One of my favorite tools in preparing for the 2013 NFL football season and to enhance your nfl wagering knowledge is to look ahead at each teams NFL schedule, and evaluate the games they will play.

2013 Regular Season Opponents

Sun, Sep 8 @ Indianapolis – The Raiders open the season on the road in Indianapolis and who will start under center Terrelle Prior or Matt Flynn? Whoever, gets the nod will be facing a suspect Colts’ defense, but can the Raiders’ defense keep Andrew Luck from lighting up the scoreboard?

Sun, Sep 15 vs Jacksonville – The first game is at home facing the Jaguars, who only won 1-road games last season. RB Darren McFadden is looking to stay healthy for a change this season and he may have a field day facing a Jax run defense that ranked 30th in the league last season.

Mon, Sep 23 @ Denver – Tough prime time game on Monday night facing the Broncos in Denver where the Raiders were crushed last season 37-6. The Oakland pass defense will be tested facing Payton Manning, who now has 3 WR’s that had over 1,000 receiving yards last season with the off-season addition of Wes Welker.

Sun, Sep 29 vs Washington – RG3 and the Redskins come to town and the Oakland D not only has to focus on Griffin, but RB Alfred Morris, who ranked 2nd in the league last season in rushing yards.

Sun, Oct 6 vs San Diego – The Raiders lost to the Chargers at home in Week 1 of last season. Will Oakland be facing San Diego QB Phillip Rivers, who has struggled the last 2 seasons or the one that was one of the best QB’s in the league the previous few seasons?

Sun, Oct 13 @ Kansas City – The Raiders have not lost in KC in the last several seasons, but they face a new-look Chiefs’ team with Alex Smith and head coach Andy Reid.

BYE WEEK
[soliloquy id=”82219″]
Sun, Oct 27 vs Pittsburgh – Tough game at home facing Big Ben and the Steelers, who lost some key players, but should still have a formidable defense. At least the Raiders will be well rested after the bye week.

Sun, Nov 3 vs Philadelphia – Michael Vick and the Eagles come to town with their new offense under new head coach Chip Kelly. The Oakland pass rush must get to Vick in this game or they may be in for a long day.

Sun, Nov 10 @ New York Giants – The Raiders are in the Big Apple to face Eli Manning and the Giants, who struggled on defense last season. Oakland only won 1 road game last season.

Sun, Nov 17 @ Houston – Oakland hits the road to face the defending AFC South champion Houston. The Raiders’ QB will have to air it out facing a weak secondary and with the Oakland defense they have a tough task facing Matt Schaub, Adrian Foster and the dynamic Texans’ offense.

Sun, Nov 24 vs Tennessee – Winnable game at home facing the Titans and the Raiders must keep RB Chris Johnson from having a big game. Last season Tennessee did not rank in the top 23 in the league in run or pass defense.

Thu, Nov 28 @ Dallas – Facing Tony Romo and the Cowboys in the Big D is never easy and the secondary for Oakland must play well and force some turnovers.

Sun, Dec 8 @ New York Jets – 2nd time around in the Big Apple for the Raiders this time facing the Jets. Will Oakland face a legit New York team or the one that imploded last season?

Sun, Dec 15 vs Kansas City -The Raiders begin their stretch run of 3 straight division games facing a Chiefs’ team that they shut out at home last season.

Sun, Dec 22 @ San Diego – The Raiders narrowly lost to the Chargers in San Diego last season and will either team be in the division race this late in the season?

Sun, Dec 29 vs Denver – Tough season finale facing Payton Manning and the Broncos, who are heavily favored to win the AFC West. Last season at home the Raiders lost to the Broncos at home by 13 points. Denver’s leader on defense LB Von Miller will be back in this game after being suspended for the first 6 games meaning he will miss the first match up with Oakland.
