2013 N.Y. Jets Complete Season Schedule | Handicapping

Jets Schedule – NFL Football

Next up. The NY Jets. One of my favorite tools in preparing for the 2013 NFL football season and to enhance your nfl wagering knowledge is to look ahead at each teams NFL schedule, and evaluate the games they will play.

Sun, Sep 8 vs Tampa Bay – Will The Jets stay with Mark Sanchez at QB or will rookie Gino Smith be under center? Well, whoever gets the nod will at least face a Tampa Bay pass defense that was the worst in the NFL last season. The QB issue is not the only one in New York, as the Jets have a few unproven RB and they no longer have Shonn Greene, who rushed for over 1,050 yards last season and is now with the Titans.

Thu, Sep 12 @ New England – Tough first road game facing the Pats where they lost in OT last season. Stopping Tom Brady will be the key and if they cannot they will be in big trouble, as Sanchez and Smith will not likely light up the scoreboard.

Sun, Sep 22 vs Buffalo – The Jets beat Buffalo badly at home last season, but it was the first game before New York fell apart. The Jets ranked 26th in run D last season and they will get a heavy dose of the Bills’ rushing attack that ranked 6th last season.

Sun, Sep 29 @ Tennessee – for the 2nd straight week the Jets will have to stop the run facing Chris Johnson. However, the New York offense will face a Titans’ defense that did not rank in the top 23 last season in run or pass defense.

Mon, Oct 7@ Atlanta – Tough road game facing the high flying Falcons and the New York secondary has a tall task trying to contain QB Matt Ryan and the WR duo of Julio Jones and Roddy White.

Sun, Oct 13 vs Pittsburgh – At home facing Big Ben and the tough Steelers’ defense. The Jets will have to play great D in this game, as their offense will not score a ton of points on the Steelers.

Sun, Oct 20 vs New England – 2nd time around facing the Pats and last season they were embarrassed by them at home giving up 49 points. In that game Sanchez passed for 301 yards, but New York only scored 19 points.

Sun, Oct 27 @ Cincinnati – The Jets will face a young and talented Cincy team with a solid defense and Andy Dalton under center. Last season the Jets were only 3-5 on the road and they did not beat one team away from home that finished the season with a winning record. [soliloquy id=”82219″]

Sun, Nov 3 vs New Orleans – At least the Jets are at home in this game facing Drew Brees and the dynamic Saints’ passing attack. New York will face a New Orleans D that ranked 2nd to last in pass D and dead last in run D last season.

BYE WEEK

Sun, Nov 17 @ Buffalo – The Jets lost their season finale at Buffalo last season and the run defense from the Jets will be key in this AFC East match up.

Sun, Nov 24 @ Baltimore – The Ravens lost several key players from the Super Bowl team, but they still have Joe Flacco and Ray Rice.

Sun, Dec 1 vs Miami – Last season the Jets were crushed at home by Miami. Will the Jets be in the playoff race at this point in the season?

Sun, Dec 8 vs Oakland – Winnable game at home facing a Raiders’ team that only won 1 road game last season. Still, will the Jets grow as a team or will they implode like last season where they dropped their last 3 games.

Sun, Dec 15 @ Carolina – On the road to play Cam Newton and the Panthers, who were 7-9 last season and only won 3 games at home.

Sun, Dec 22 vs Cleveland – The Browns won only 1 game on the road last season and playing in the Big Apple is never easy for a young team.

Sun, Dec 29 @ Miami – Season finale against the Fish and last season the Jets beat them in Miami in OT. Last season the Dolphins had a decent run defense, but their pass defense really struggled.
