2013 Minnesota Vikings Complete Season Schedule | Handicapping

Vikings Schedule – NFL Football

Next up. The Minnesota Vikings. One of my favorite tools in preparing for the 2013 NFL football season and to enhance your nfl wagering knowledge is to look ahead at each teams NFL schedule, and evaluate the games they will play.

2013 Regular Season Opponents

Sun, Sept. 8 @ Detroit We know that Minny is going to give Detroit (and every other opponent) a healthy dose of Adrian Peterson, but how new superstar WR acquisition Greg Jennings and enigmatic QB Christian Ponder develop will go far to determine the Vikings’ fate in 2013.

Sun, Sept. 15 @ Chicago The Purple and Gold start with two crucial divisional road games this season; how they fare in the first two will definitely factor into whether or not the Twin Cities are punching a playoff ticket.

Sun, Sept. 22 CLEVELAND Not only is it a boon to have the best RB (and probably the best player) in the league, but Minnesota’s offensive line is also a strength and should push around Cleveland’s front seven.

Sun, Sept. 29 PITTSBURGH If Ponder could eventually develop to even have a Ben Roethlisberger-like career, I’m sure the diehard Vikings fans would be plenty happy with that.

Sun, Oct. 6 BYE

Sun, Oct. 13 CAROLINA Minnesota will have ample time to prepare for Panthers QB Cam Newton. Not to mention, everything except the linebacker corps is strong on the Vikings’ “D”.

Mon, Oct. 21 @ N.Y. Giants The G-Men are known the league over for their fearsome pass rush, but let’s not forget that Minnesota employs DEs Jared Allen and rather underrated Brian Robison.

Sun, Oct. 27 GREEN BAY The Vikes’ secondary is solid if unspectacular, but they’ll be tested by Aaron Rodgers. It will be strange to see longtime Packer Jennings in the uniform of a bitter rival.

Sun, Nov. 3 @ Dallas The Cowboys proved last year that their offense is one-dimensional; if they don’t diversify beyond QB Tony Romo, WR Dez Bryant and TE Jason Witten, the Vikings could win this road game. [soliloquy id=”82219″]

Thurs, Nov. 7 WASHINGTON Peterson is incredible – it can’t be said enough – but it would be really nice for the Vikings to have more weapons in the passing game… starting with their man under center.

Sun, Nov. 17 @ Seattle The Seahawks have quickly emerged as an NFC powerhouse, not to mention their stadium is like playing in the lion’s den. This shouldn’t be an enjoyable road trip for the Vikings – especially because there’s Starbucks everywhere now.

Sun, Nov. 24 @ Green Bay The mercury should be starting to dip low in northern Wisconsin this time of year, as will the collective mood of the Cheese-Heads if the Vikings come into town and pillage a victory.

Sun, Dec. 1 CHICAGO The Packers look to be the class of the NFC North, but this could be an intrinsic game for wild-card purposes, if everything goes according to forecasts.

Sun, Dec. 8 @ Baltimore Crab cakes and football – that’s what Maryland does.

Sun, Dec. 15 PHILADELPHIA With concerns at linebacker and perhaps the secondary, Minnesota must be mindful about a sped-up offense courtesy of new Philly head coach Chip Kelly.

Sun, Dec. 22 @ Cincinnati This should be a good ole fashioned, black-and-blue Midwest thumping. The intriguing thing is that either team could definitely emerge as the victor.

Sun, Dec. 29 DETROIT Minnesota must impose its will on the Lions physically, and there’s no reason why it shouldn’t happen.
