2013 Kansas City Chiefs Complete Season Schedule | Handicapping

Chiefs Schedule – NFL Football

Next up. The KC Chiefs. One of my favorite tools in preparing for the 2013 NFL football season and to enhance your nfl wagering knowledge is to look ahead at each teams NFL schedule, and evaluate the games they will play.

2013 Regular Season Opponents

Sun, Sep 8 @ Jacksonville – The Alex Smith and Andy Reid era begins for the Chiefs on the road to face a Jaguars’ team that was only 2-14 last season. RB Jamaal Charles ranked 3rd in the NFL last season in rushing yards and he may get off to a good start this season facing a Jags’ rushing defense that ranked 30th in the league last season.

Sun, Sep 15 vs Dallas – The first home game for the Chiefs this season is facing Tony Romo and the Cowboys. KC ranked 12th in pass defense last season and if they can defend the pass well they should get the win, which would already match last season’s home win total.

Thu, Sep 19 @ Philadelphia – The Chiefs only won 1 road game last season and Philly is never an easy place to play. Jamaal Charles may get a lot of touches facing an Eagles’ run defense that was not good last season. Andy Reid faces his old squad in this non-conference game.

Sun, Sep 29 vs New York Giants – For the 3rd week in a row the Chiefs face a NFC East foe. The Giants really had a tough time on defense last season and 3 games in we may see if the Chiefs are a much better squad with Alex Smith under center.

Sun, Oct 6 @ Tennessee – The Titans were 4-4 at home last season and the KC defense has to get ready to see a lot of Chris Johnson. The Chiefs only ranked 27th in the league last season in run defense.

Sun, Oct 13 vs Oakland – The first AFC West game comes in Week 6 hosting the Raiders, who beat them at home last season. The Raiders have won 6 straight games in Kansas City.

Sun, Oct 20 vs Houston – The defense of KC will be tested in this game by Texans’ QB Matt Shaw and RB Adrian Foster.

Sun, Oct 27 vs Cleveland – KC hosts a Cleveland team that only had 1 away win last season. Smith and company will face a Browns’ defense that struggled against the pass and the run last season.

Sun, Nov 3 @ Buffalo – Brrrr, visiting cold Buffalo in early November! Will the Chiefs be facing rookie E.J. Manuel or Kevin Kolb? The Bills were 4-4 at home last season and if KC cannot stop the run Buffalo should get the win in this game. [soliloquy id=”82219″]

BYE WEEK

Sun, Nov 17 @ Denver – Luckily the Chiefs are coming off a bye to play the Broncos so they will be well rested. KC will face a Denver defense that ranked 3rd last season both defending the pass and the run.

Sun, Nov 24 vs San Diego – Hosting the Chargers in this division match up and last season the Chiefs’ defense was torched at home giving up 37 points to San Diego.

Sun, Dec 1 vs Denver – 3rd straight AFC West game in this one facing Payton Manning and a Broncos’ team that easily won the division last season. The Chiefs played a decent game on D in last season’s home loss to Denver only giving up 17 points.

Sun, Dec 8 @ Washington – Tough game facing RG3 and the Redskins in the Nation’s Capital. Alex Smith may have a good game facing the weakness of the Skins, which is their pass D. Last season the Redskins were 5-3 at home.

Sun, Dec 15 @ Oakland – 2nd time around facing the Raiders and will them or the Chiefs be anywhere close to a playoff spot, or even .500 for that matter?

Sun, Dec 22 vs Indianapolis – Home facing Andrew Luck and the Colts and while Indy made the playoffs last season they really struggled on defense and were only 4-4 on the road.

Sun, Dec 29 @ San Diego – The Chiefs finish the season in sunny San Diego where they were crushed last season giving up 31 points. Will this be a key division match up or one that has zero playoff implications?
