2013 Houston Texans Complete Season Schedule | Handicapping

Texans Schedule – NFL Football

Next up. The Houston Texans. One of my favorite tools in preparing for the 2013 NFL football season and to enhance your nfl wagering knowledge is to look ahead at each teams NFL schedule, and evaluate the games they will play.

2013 Regular Season Opponents

Mon, Sep 9 @ San Diego – Houston wants to forget last season where they faltered down the stretch and were blown out by the Patriots in the playoffs. The secondary is the weakness of the Houston defense and they may be facing Phillip Rivers, who has struggled last couple of seasons, but looks to regain his place as an elite QB in the league. Will RB Adrian Foster be healthy on the field after being injured in the pre-season?

Sun, Sep 15 vs Tennessee – J.J. Watt and the solid Texans’ run defense has their hands full in this game facing Chris Johnson. However, Matt Schaub, Andre Johnson, and new weapon first round draft pick WR DeAndre Hopkins may have a field day facing a Titans’ pass defense that only ranked 26th in the league last season.

Sun, Sep 22 @ Baltimore – Tough away game facing the Ravens, who lost many familiar faces from their Super Bowl winning team. Last season the Texans were 6-2 on the road.

Sun, Sep 29 vs Seattle – The Seahawks are an up and coming team that has a solid young defense and a great RB in Marshawn Lynch. However, Seattle was only 3-5 on the road last season.

Sun, Oct 6 @ San Francisco – Big, big road test facing the 49ers and their great rushing offense and great defense. Watt and the defense will have to get to San Fran QB Colin Kaepernick and keep Frank Gore and the 49ers from rushing for a ton of yards.

Sun, Oct 13 vs St. Louis – 3rd straight week facing a NFC West team and possibly the easiest one facing the Rams. St. Louis has issues at the RB position and QB Sam Bradford may have to do it all on offense. Schaub and company will be facing a Rams’ defense that ranked 15th against the pass and the run last season.

Sun, Oct 20 @ Kansas City – The Texans hit the road to play the new-look Chiefs team with QB Alex Smith and head coach Andy Reid.

BYE WEEK

Sun, Nov 3 vs Indianapolis – The Texans have to be happy to play the Colts after the bye week. Andrew Luck may give the Houston secondary problems, but Indy has defensive issues of their own and the Texans beat them at home last season.

Sun, Nov 10 @ Arizona – Will this be the same old weak Cardinals or will Carson Palmer be the QB they have been looking for since Kurt Warner retired?

Sun, Nov 17 vs Oakland – At home in a game the Texans should win, as the Raiders have many issues mainly with the QB and the defense.

Sun, Nov 24 vs Jacksonville – Last season the Texans beat the Jags at home in a barnburner 43-37 in OT with Schaub passing for 527 yards.

Sun, Dec 1 vs New England – The Texans can exact some revenge on the Pats after they lost to them on the road in the playoffs last season. Look for a high scoring game since each team has major concerns with the pass defense.

Thu, Dec 5 @ Jacksonville – The Texans crushed the Jags on the road last season and who will be the QB for Jax? Blaine Gabbert will be the starter, but will he last after being a draft bust the last 2 seasons?

Sun, Dec 15 @ Indianapolis – The Texans lost to the Colts on the road in the season finale last season and this game may be big for the 2 teams favored to battle it out for the AFC South crown.

Sun, Dec 22 vs Denver – Big time test facing Payton Manning and the Broncos at home. Will the Texans’ secondary still be an issue this late in the season? If they are Houston may be in a for a long game facing Manning and the Denver WR corps, which has 3 receivers that had over 1,000 yards last season.

Sun, Dec 29 @ Tennessee – The Texans finish the regular season on the road to face the Titans. Schaub and Foster should have big games facing a Tennessee defense that has many issues both against the pass and the run.
