2013 Carolina Panthers Complete Season Schedule | Handicapping

Panthers Schedule – NFL Football

Next up. The Carolina Panthers. One of my favorite tools in preparing for the 2013 NFL football season and to enhance your nfl wagering knowledge is to look ahead at each teams NFL schedule, and evaluate the games they will play.

2013 Regular Season Opponents

Sun, Sept. 8 SEATTLE Whiny superstar pivot Cam Newton and Co. will have a tough go of it in the first week of the season, against a Seattle Seahawks team that looks better and better as time passes.

Sun, Sept. 15 @ Buffalo There’s nothing that remedies a difficult opening game quite like a Week 2 trip to upstate New York. We’re pretty sure that everyone in the league empathizes with Bills fans now, right?

Sun, Sept. 22 N.Y. GIANTS This should be a good early test to see if Carolina plan to be contenders or pretenders in 2013. Playing the Giants is a tall order, even when they play you on your home turf.

Sun, Sept. 29 BYE

Sun, Oct. 6 @ Arizona The addition of Carson Palmer under center and Rashard Mendenhall grinding out yards in the backfield could finally bring talented but tortured WR Larry Fitzgerald some reprieve.

Sun, Oct. 13 @ Minnesota A clash of two top-10 rushing attacks in the league should translate to as close as you can get to “three-yards-and-a-cloud-of-dust” in the current NFL.

Sun, Oct. 20 ST. LOUIS The Rams have been trending in the right direction for a couple seasons now, so this should be a tricky little home game for the Panthers.

Thurs, Oct. 24 @ Tampa Bay Three teams in the NFC South division finished at 7-9 last season; Carolina and the Bucs both were in this group. These teams are looking to get a leg up in 2013 and edge closer to division winner Atlanta, so expect this divisional game to be spirited, Thursday game be damned.

Sun, Nov. 3 ATLANTA The middle of the season holds a couple of crucial divisional games for the Panthers. The Falcons are an excellent football team, so Newton must be at his best – with his arm and his feet – for Carolina to have a chance. [soliloquy id=”82219″]

Sun, Nov. 10 @ San Francisco A nasty 49ers linebacker corps certainly has the ability to swallow up whatever Newton and RB DeAngelo Williams have to offer. Like any good group of modern NFL ’backers, they are strong dropping back in coverage as well.

Mon, Nov. 18 NEW ENGLAND The Pats just seem to churn out contending ballclubs, season, after season, after season. Hence, expect some loud-mouthed New Englanders to make the trip to Charlotte for the Monday nighter.

Sun, Nov. 24 @ Miami Newton is still young, but he has a little more experience than Dolphins QB Ryan Tannehil.

Sun, Dec. 1 TAMPA BAY This time, the Bucs travel to North Carolina to make a divisional push in the land of powder-blue.

Sun, Dec. 8 @ New Orleans The latter-season schedule features two games against the Saints in four weeks for the Panthers. It’s never easy to win in the Mercedes- Benz Superdome.

Sun, Dec. 15 N.Y. JETS New York’s other team is a mess, so if Carolina has any legitimate hopes at becoming relevant in the playoff picture, they have to take care of business at home against teams like the Jets.

Sun, Dec. 22 NEW ORLEANS The Saints can still erupt with a dominant offense at any given time, so the Panthers’ secondary must be careful that QB Drew Brees doesn’t burn them too badly.

Sun, Dec. 29 @ Atlanta To be able to get a win on the road in Atlanta to finish out the season would be huge for the Panthers’ confidence, whether or not they qualify for the playoffs in 2013.
