Falcons Schedule – NFL Football
Next up. The Atlanta Falcons. One of my favorite tools in preparing for the 2013 NFL football season and to enhance your nfl wagering knowledge is to look ahead at each teams NFL schedule, and evaluate the games they will play.
2013 Regular Season Opponents
Sun, Sept. 8 @ New Orleans The Falcons will doubtlessly hope to impose their will on a division rival, and show they are an NFC contender that’s right back in the mix this season.
Sun, Sept. 15 ST. LOUIS Rams RB Steven Jackson just seems to be able to handle being an NFL bell-cow season after season. After 257 totes last year, he should again be a focal point on offense for St. Lou.
Sun, Sept. 22 @ Miami Pivot Ryan Tannehill had a decent rookie season last year (3,294 yards, 12 TDs) but he needs an impact wideout to emerge beyond Brian Hartline – who contributed with only one touchdown in ’12.

Mon, Oct. 7 N.Y. JETS If it doesn’t go as planned in the week previous versus the Patriots, Atlanta stands a good chance of stomping the Jets in primetime – surely a nice way to go into the bye week.
Sun, Oct. 13 BYE
Sun, Oct. 20 TAMPA BAY The early-season schedule is kind, as the Dirty Birds get four of their first six games of the season at the Georgia Dome.
Sun, Oct. 27 @ Arizona University of Phoenix Stadium is a modern marvel, which features real turf that can slide out on a platform and soak up some desert sun. Unfortunately, on that sliding platform, has often also gone the Cardinals’ playoff ambitions.
Sun, Nov. 3 @ Carolina Cam Newton, Steve Smith, DeAngelo Williams and a nasty defense will be throwing everything they have at the visiting Falcons, so Atlanta better bring its “A” game to the land of tobacco.
Sun, Nov. 10 SEATTLE Quarterback Russell Wilson is a player on the rise. He may not pass the eye test of a prototypical NFL passer, but he is a plucky competitor that will find ways to win.
Sun, Nov. 17 @ Tampa Bay Of course, all divisional games are important in the NFL, but I have a feeling this type of mid-season tilt – against these two teams in particular – may have some special priority in the NFC South rat race. [soliloquy id=”82219″]
Thurs, Nov. 21 NEW ORLEANS This is a crucial two-game stretch for Atlanta, on a short turnaround, no less. Divisional hopes should definitely be in the balance between the Falcons, the Bucs and the Saints, so expect some exciting football in the “Dirty South” in November.
Sun, Dec. 1 @ Buffalo The Bills are hoping they can use their characteristically chilly weather to their advantage when Hot-lanta comes to town to kick off December.
Sun, Dec. 8 @ Green Bay And the Falcons thought the previous week, on the shores of Lake Ontario, was cold? Brrr…oh yeah, there’s Aaron Rodgers to contend with, too.
Sun, Dec. 15 WASHINGTON A showdown between Atlanta signal-caller Matt Ryan and Washington’s Robert Griffin III will feature two of the conference’s premier QBs. Should be an exciting one – that the Falcons should be able to handle.
Mon, Dec. 23 @ San Francisco Here’s another Monday-night game for Atlanta, a team that is clearly in vogue for TV viewers. This should be yet another awesome conference match-up, in an NFC that has rocketed past the AFC for overall talent in recent years.
Sun, Dec. 29 CAROLINA It is possible that Atlanta is resting starters by the final game of the season against the Panthers. Granted, everyone else in the division seems to have taken a step forward, but the Falcons were a dominant 13-3 last season.
