Cappers Picks NFL Power Rankings – Week 13 – Nov 27

Dave B’s NFL Power Rankings – Week 13

Week 12 is over! Time to reflect on yet another scintillating slate of games in the ever-changing NFL. The top dogs keep winning but some in less-than impressive fashion.

Houston barley holds on to #1 this week although their last two games have gone into overtime while the other one-loss team finds themselves slipping down the Rankings based on an unflattering couple of weeks.

Enough talk – let’s get on with Dave B’s Week 13 edition of the Rankings!

1. TEXANS (1) – The Texans still have the best record in the NFL so they have to be at the top. But and that is a big BUT, their once stout defense has shown cracks – 68 points and 983 yards against in the last two games. Houston is #1 mostly because of their insane offensive output the last two weeks.

2. 49ERS (3) – Colin Kaepernick is the real deal folks and the Niners are suddenly more dangerous than they were before his emergence. They have beaten the Bears and the Saints the last two weeks and the defense has been off the charts. If the NFC Championship game was played tomorrow – the 49ers would have to be favored and therefore are #2 on this week’s Rankings.

3. PATRIOTS (4) – The Patriots have averaged 47.5 points the last four weeks and look very much like a team that will make a run in the playoffs. The defense may not be great but the offense will outscore almost anybody down the stretch.

4. FALCONS (2) – The Falcons could be the ugliest 10-1 that I can remember but they are finding ways to get it done – barely! It may be time to abandon the Michael Turner experiment – Jaquizz Rodgers is by far the more explosive back!

5. BRONCOS (5) – the Broncos could be the most balanced team in the AFC – when the offense struggles as it did in Week 12, the defense picks up the slack. Denver won despite delivering a dud Sunday and remain a Top 5 team this week.

6. RAVENS (6) – they won in Week 10 but they didn’t look great against Pittsburgh and then they won ugly in San Diego Sunday. Joe Flacco is absolutely maddening – good thing for Ray Rice!

7. BEARS (12) – How important is Jay Cutler to this team? Take a look at the Week 11 and Week 12 game film. It is obvious that this team is a Top 10 team with Jay and not when Jason Campbell is behind center.

8. GIANTS (14) – came off the bye and soundly defeated the red-hot Packers. It is amazing what a difference a week to recharge the batteries will do for a team.

9. PACKERS (7) – The Packers need Clay Matthews back and they need Greg Jennings on the field. They could also use some decent O-line play. Pass protection may be an issue for the rest of the season – it will be interesting to see where the Pack end up at season’s end – almost impossible to predict!

10. BUCCANEERS (9) – could be the scariest 6-5 team in the NFL – nobody is going to want to play them in the playoffs. They have the #1 ranked run defense and an offense that is clicking on all cylinders at the moment. [soliloquy id=”82219″]

11. COLTS (15) – should make the playoffs this year – incredible! But they do have two games against Houston remaining which could hurt their Ranking in the next few weeks.

12. BENGALS (17) – have won three straight games by a combined score of 93-29! They are the AFC’s version of the Bucs – they are 6-5 but are a scary team to go up against down the stretch.

13. SEAHAWKS (8) – the Hawks are 1-5 on the road – a totally different looking team! Add in the fact that they are in Chicago Week 13 and they look like they have lost their two starting corners to suspension and the playoff prospect for this team is slipping quickly!

14. STEELERS (13) – turned the ball over eight times on Sunday and they still kept the game close. They are gonna get healthy sometime and still deserve a Top 15 based on record and potential!

15. REDSKINS (19) – The Skins have put themselves back in the playoff picture with two straight wins and two monster games from Robert Griffin III. They are talented, they are confident and frankly they are looking like a dark horse to emerge as a sleeper in the NFL playoff picture!

16. VIKINGS (10)
17. SAINTS (11)
18. COWBOYS (16)
19. DOLPHINS (23)
20. LIONS (18)
21. RAMS (22)
22. CHARGERS (21)
23. BILLS (20)
24. TITANS (25)
25. CARDINALS (26)
26. BROWNS (30)
27. JETS (24)
28. EAGLES (27)
29. RAIDERS (28)
30. PANTHERS (29)
31. JAGUARS (31)
32. CHIEFS (32)
