Green Bay Packers Betting Odds – NFL Football Futures

There isn’t a whole lot to dislike about the Green Bay Packers heading into the 2011-2012 season. After all, they emerged as the Top Dog in the NFL last season despite losing 16 regulars to injury.

**Ready To Bet On NFL Season Win Total Odds? We will have them posted soon!

A look at the numbers:

Last season – 10-6 SU, 9-7 ATS
Projection this season – 13-3 (1st in NFC North)
Packers Super Bowl XLVI Odds: +600
Packers 2011/12 NFC Odds – +350
2011 Packers NFC North Lines – -230

Now healthy and somewhat retooled, the Pack will be looking to repeat as Champs with a lineup that strikes the fear of God into their opposition on both sides of the ball.

Aaron Rodgers – that’s all that you really need to know! But this team is so much more than the best quarterback in the game. The Packers are absolutely stacked at every position and will undoubtedly be a nightmare for their opposition this season.

The beauty of Green Bay heading into the 2011-2012 season is their ability to retain the difference makers from last season while cutting ties with former stars that didn’t make much of an impact on the Super Bowl winning squad from last year.

Red flags should be raised when a team loses players like LB Nick Barnett, T Mark Tauscher, G Daryn Colledge, DE Cullen Jenkins, LB Brady Poppinga, TE Donald Lee and RB Brandon Jackson but with this team’s development of younger replacements has been swift and effective.

All told, the Packers will enter the season with a great nucleus in every aspect of the game.

Back to Aaron Rodgers for a minute. Last season he played 20 games passed for 5016 yards, ran for 410 yards and totaled 43 touchdowns – incredible numbers indeed. [soliloquy id=”82219″]

He will have his superb group of receivers intact in 2011 – Greg Jennings will hope to build on 14 scores last season, Donald Driver will be out to prove that he has something left in the tank, James Jones and Jordy Nelson are back as a scary third or fourth option and Jermichael Finley returns from injury and instantly becomes one of the best Tight Ends in the game.

There weren’t a whole lot of teams that were able to slow the Packers passing game last season and this year promises much of the same.

The only hole in the Packers offensive attack last season promises to be much better this year with the injury to Ryan Grant a thing of the past. The emergence of James Starks only serves to better this team in the long run – he will push Grant and keep Grant on his toes.

Defensively, the Packers became one of the two or three best units in the NFL last season and there is no reason to think that their steady climb up the ranking will slow at any time soon.

Desmond Bishop, Sam Shields and Charlie Peprah started last season as backups but will enter this season as quality starters in a system that appears to have absolutely no holes.

Packers NFC North Prediction

Is it possible for this team to be better than it was last season?

You bet! A look at the schedule tells me that the Packers could walk through the 2011-2012 season. Green Bay is elite on both sides of the ball and they could easily become an NFL Dynasty.

Do you get the feeling that I like this team? 13-3 or even 14-2 is possible barring catastrophic injury!
