2011 Regular Season Opponents

Sun, Sept. 11 @ Washington The schedule gods have the Giants and Redskins jumping right into 2011 with a divisional clash. DC has a few good players, but the ’Skins just seem to be a tad below everyone else in the division.

Mon, Sept. 19 ST. LOUIS The Giants were in the Top 10 in most offensive and defensive categories last season; the Blueshirts are also known to be streaky, however. How will this mix in to the storyline with the nation watching against the young Rams?

Sun, Sept. 25 @ Philadelphia New York has lost a couple soul-breaking games to Philly in recent memory and the Giants would surely love to reverse that trend. It has to start with slowing down the resurgent Mike Vick, who has shown everyone that prison food is underrated.

Sun, Oct. 2 @ Arizona The Giants continue westward the following week for a desert date with the Cardinals. Arizona is still definitely in the bottom half of the NFL’s teams, provided a player (or two) in the Giants’ secondary puts a stiff check on WR Larry Fitzgerald.

Sun, Oct. 9 SEATTLE The Seahawks fortified their offensive line in the draft, in the hope that RBs Marshawn Lynch and Justin Forsett can rip off crazy runs like the video game-esque one Lynch made near the end of last season. New York would be wise to note that.

Sun, Oct. 16 BUFFALO New York has developed an excellent receiver corps, but the Bills are one team that can really thwart a passing attack. The home team perhaps will find another way to beat the closest thing they have to an in-state rival…after the Jets and…I suppose the Eagles in the tri-state area… forget I said anything.

Sun, Oct. 23 BYE

Sun, Oct. 30 MIAMI The Dolphins played some outstanding defense last season, but if it comes down to a feat of scoring points, I certainly like the Giants over the South Beachers in this one.

Sun, Nov. 6 @ New England Much to the relief of the Patriots, there is no David Tyree around to make an incomprehensible helmet-catch this time around.

Sun, Nov. 13 @ San Francisco It cannot be denied that the Giants’ offensive line is not getting any younger, so the Niners optimist insists that LB Patrick Willis is a special type of beast that can do almost anything. That person is right, but Willis is just one player.

Sun, Nov. 20 PHILADELPHIA Even if you’re one of those football fans that hates the NFC East – or the “East-Coast Media Bias” in general, you have to enjoy a match-up like this.

Mon, Nov. 28 @ New Orleans Drew Brees vs. this Manning brother is not quite as captivating as Brees vs. Indy’s Manning brother, but it still ain’t too damn bad.

Sun, Dec. 4 GREEN BAY Brady, Vick, Brees, then the Championship Belt Thruster himself (Aaron Rodgers). That ninth-ranked pass defense of the Giants is sure going to be tested in November and December.

Sun, Dec. 11 @ Dallas Like most NFC East divisional tilts, these games are always played with enmity. If the Cowboys can use their pass-rush to force Manning into mistakes, Dallas could be looking good in this one.

Sun, Dec. 18 WASHINGTON With two upcoming stiff challenges to finish the 2011 regular season, the G-Men would love to circle a win here against the Redskins.

Sat, Dec. 24 @ New York Jets All those obese cross-town folk who have maybe eaten one too many veal parm sandwiches will lock guts for this epic Empire State showdown. Petty comedy aside, it should really be a great game.

Sun, Jan. 1 DALLAS There are a lot of variables to consider when trying to predict this final divisional home game of the season. Who knows what might be on the line?
