Listed below is the NFL 2011 Baltimore Ravens schedule and some insider NFL handicapping info.

2011 Regular Season Opponents

Sun, Sept. 11 PITTSBURGH Looks like we’ll see if QB Joe Flacco is ready to be Ben Roethlisberger-like right off the hop of the 2011 campaign.

Sun, Sept. 18 @ Tennessee The Titans have a strong running dimension with the speedy Chris Johnson. Luckily, that’s exactly what Baltimore specializes in thwarting (fifth-best run “D” in the NFL in 2010).

Sun, Sept. 25 @ St. Louis Tackle machines like safeties Dawan Landry and the ball-hawking Ed Reed will be sure to make life miserable for young Rams QB Sam Bradford and his decidedly average crop of receivers.

Sun, Oct. 2 NEW YORK JETS This is a premier conference game. Two teams that are both pretty vocal about their talents lock horns in as close as you’re going to get to an NFL pissing contest.

Sun, Oct. 9 BYE

Sun, Oct. 16 HOUSTON Flacco should continue to develop into at least a Matt Schaub (Houston’s starter) and, if he fulfills all of his potential, could be better than that.

Mon, Oct. 24 @ Jacksonville An intriguing Monday night match-up, but if the Jaguars really want a chance, they have to fine-tune a pretty disorganized passing game.

Sun, Oct. 30 ARIZONA We know they can get support from Baltimore’s safety duo, but are CB Josh Wilson or Chris Carr could enough to cover the likes of a Larry Fitzgerald?

Sun, Nov. 6 @ Pittsburgh These two rivals might be feeling each other out a little bit in Week 1, but this game at Heinz Field should tell us a great deal about how the division will shake down in 2011.

Sun, Nov. 13 @ Seattle The Ravens will make their way entirely across the U.S. landmass in the course of two weeks, this time playing a somewhat head-scratching Seattle team. At the very least, the Seahawks’ crazy fans provide a hostile environment.

Sun, Nov. 20 CINCINNATI Back to the Eastern Seaboard to play a Bengals team that is just good enough for the Ravens to be conscious about not getting caught napping.

Thurs, Nov. 24 SAN FRANCISCO Do they eat crab cakes in Maryland on Thanksgiving? That I couldn’t tell you, but I would be willing to say that facing an average San Fran team at home is a welcome Turkey Day treat.

Sun, Dec. 4 @ Cleveland As Baltimore is the old Browns franchise, the Dawg Pound faithful will carry a grudge forever. Frankly, as a Cleveland-area sports fan, do you have anything better to do?

Sun, Dec. 11 INDIANAPOLIS For two teams with postseason ambitions, this could wind up being a vital regular season game. Expect a good contest worthy of your attention, with highlights provided on both sides of the ball.

Sun, Dec. 18 @ San Diego This would be a beautiful, relaxing road trip this time of the year – except the Ravens have to play the Chargers. Looks like the bevy of players on both these teams will save their loafing in the sun for Hawaii and Pro Bowl time.

Sat, Dec. 24 CLEVELAND The regular season’s final two games provide a chance for Baltimore to finish 2011 with an exclamation point, provided the Ravens aren’t found guilty of mailing it in.

Sun, Jan. 1 @ Cincinnati The hatred will be plentiful at Paul Brown Stadium, but will anything else? (Notably: touchdowns, big plays for the Bengals on defense?)
