NFL Week 13 Preview

Week 13 of the 2010-11 NFL season will kick off the month of December, and teams will be looking for some early yuletide cheer. My pick for Game of the Week is the New York Jets at New England Patriots on Monday Night.

LOOKING FOR NFL WEEK 13 ODDS? —–>

It should be a thriller, as Brady takes on Sanchez in this divisional clash. Here I take a look at all of this week’s matchups, giving you some early insight that will help make your 2010 NFL wagers winners.

THU, DEC 2 TIME (ET)

Houston at Philadelphia 8:20 PM NFL – The Texans defense held its opponents to zero points last week, but it was against a third string quarterback. Philadelphia’s defense got pushed around by the Bears in their last outing, especially the secondary. Houston’s offense will present another hurdle for the Eagles D, as the Houston defense is likely to experience its own setbacks.  High scoring game with Philly grabbing one at home.

SUN, DEC 5 TIME (ET)

New Orleans at Cincinnati 1:00 PM FOX –The Bengals have the talent to match up with the reigning champs if they can avoid individual personnel meltdowns. New Orleans is beatable as proven by the Browns who were two touchdown underdogs. However, I don’t think the Bengals can over the spread in this one, but they have before this season. I like the Saints.

Chicago at Detroit 1:00 PM FOX –It’s a rematch of one of the most controversial games of the season when Calvin Johnson caught the apparent game winning touchdown only to have it ruled an incompletion when he started his celebration a few seconds too early. Detroit looks to be wearing down from a lack of depth while the Bears are surging. Bears take this one.

San Francisco at Green Bay 1:00 PM FOX – This will be a game of defense as the 49ers will attempt to keep the clock moving with its ground assault while the Packers will attempt to give QB

Aaron Rodgers time to get the offense moving. The Niner’s have proven they are team that can surprise you if you’re not careful. However, Green Bay should win this one handily.

Jacksonville at Tennessee 1:00 PM CBS –The Jags will be playing back-to-back divisional games, and will have their hands fill with Titan’s RB Chris Johnson. Tennessee will equally have the task of containing the always-dangerous Maurice Jones-Drew. This one will be one in the trenches by the home team.

Denver at Kansas City 1:00 PM CBS – Classic AFC West battle as the Broncos visit the unfriendly confines of Arrowhead Stadium. Denver’s defense must contend with not only RB Jammal Charles, but also the speed and acrobatics of WR Dwayne Bowe and Kansas City’s 12th Man. If the KC pass defense can halt Orton, they should come away with the win. CLICK HERE TO JOIN BETED TODAY – SIGN-UP NOW! ——->

Cleveland at Miami 1:00 PM CBS – Both teams are coming in with a win their last time out. The difference maker in this game will be whom the Browns choose to start at QB. The Miami defense is one that gets into the oppositions backfield with blinding speed and I think combined with the offensive trickery the home team gets it done.

Buffalo at Minnesota 1:00 PM CBS –Both of these teams have some big guns in the backfield, but the Bills’ Fred Jackson won’t find any holes in the No. 5 ranked Vikings run stoppers. The Vikings have a good chance to win a close one at home, but covering the spread is unlikely.

Washington at NY Giants 1:00 PM FOX – The first of two AFC East rivalry match ups and the Giants look like the better team right now. The Giants had the Redskins’ number last season, winning both contests and I don’t see it being any different in 2010.

Atlanta at Tampa Bay 1:00 PM FOX –These two NFC South teams will meet up both contending for playoff spots. Both offenses can move the football with the power running game. The game plan for the Falcons is simple–shut down RB Cadillac Williams. For the Bucs it won’t be that easy trying to contain both RB Michael Turner while protecting against the deep threat of WR Roddy White. Falcons grab a road win.

Oakland at San Diego 4:05 PM CBS – San Diego residents lock your doors and hide your daughters when the Raiders invade the Q in this AFC West match up. The Bolt’s had Oakland’s number last season beating them twice. San Diego is rolling, but the Raiders beat the Chargers back in October and are within earshot from being tied with San Diego and having a winning record. Too close to call.

Carolina at Seattle 4:15 PM FOX – The Panthers will play their second road game in as many weeks as they head out west looking to snap their five game losing skid.  Seattle will also be trying to end its two-game slide. Look for a low scoring affair with the home team coming away with the win.

St. Louis at Arizona 4:15 PM FOX – The Rams edged out a close one against the Cards in their first meeting back in Week 1, and are coming off a win at Denver. While St. Louis is surging behind rookie QB Sam Bradford, Arizona is imploding, losing its sixth in a row that ended with QB Derek Anderson’s postgame meltdown. With a little extra punch from RB Stephen Jackson, the Rams extend their road streak to two.

Dallas at Indianapolis 4:15 PM FOX – These two teams are heading in opposite directions. The Cowboys were known for years for flopping in December, but this year they don’t have very far to fall. Indy is riding a two game skid and Manning will be looking to get his No. 1 passing game back on track against the Cowboy’s so-so secondary. Indy edges out the ‘boys.

Pittsburgh at Baltimore 8:20 PM NBC – This will be the second division fracas between this two teams as the Ravens edged out the Steelers on T.J. Houshmandzadeh’s 18-yard TD reception with 32 seconds left in game one.  This one could have serious playoff implications and could be won on special teams efforts with the Ravens coming away with a late field goal and the win in “Mob Town.”

MON, DEC 6 TIME (ET)

NY Jets at New England 8:30 PM – Another contest that could have playoff ramifications as the two teams meet for the final time in 2010, knotted up atop the AFC East. The Jets walked away with the win early in the season, but that was before the Pats found their footing, with a lone loss in their last nine. Now the one of the league’s better passing teams will face off against a very good New York defense. This will be a battle, and most likely won on a turnover, an area the Jets do better in both forcing and recovering.
