Seattle Seahawks Preseason Schedule

Aug. 12-16 Tennessee
Aug. 19-23 Green Bay
Aug. 26-29 at Minnesota
Sept. 2-3 at Oakland

2010 Regular Season Opponents

Sun, Sept. 12 SAN FRANCISCO – The money’s on veteran pivot Matt Hasselbeck to better San Fran’s Alex Smith at Qwest Field, but the Niners bring other aspects to the table that must be accounted for.

Sun, Sept. 19 @ Denver – Whether it’s Kyle Orton, Brady Quinn or rookie Tim Tebow at QB, inroads can be made on the Broncs if you can just score on that overachieving defense.

Sun, Sept. 26 SAN DIEGO – A tall order, no matter how you slice it.

Sun, Oct. 3 @ St. Louis – The Washingtonians only had five wins in ’09, so they must win games against the Rams to convince the world they’re on the upswing.

Sun, Oct. 10 BYE

Sun, Oct. 17 @ Chicago – Someone’s gotta contain crisp WR Earl Bennett and someone’s gotta block enigmatic DE Julius Peppers; in the Bears’ den, no less. My Sportsbook

Sun, Oct. 24 ARIZONA – I’m just going to say it: sans Kurt Warner and possession-master Anquan Boldin, the Cards are ripe for the pickin’.

Sun, Oct. 31 @ Oakland – One will see plenty of Halloween costumes on those warped Raiders fans. Too bad the on-field product is nearly as scary.

Sun, Nov. 7 NEW YORK GIANTS – One of the genuine tests on Seattle’s slate this season. If RB Brandon Jacobs runs like the beast from 2008, it’ll be worth New York’s extensive travels.

Sun, Nov. 14 @ Arizona – Just because Warner is done doesn’t mean Matt Leinart can’t sling the ball, and that’s exactly what he must do.

Sun, Nov. 21 @ New Orleans – Teams are prone to suffering Super Bowl hangovers, but the Saints’ offense is great and their back seven on D is hungry for the ball.

Sun, Nov. 28 KANSAS CITY – Dwayne Bowe and T.J. Houshmandzadeh: If you put a lot more letters on the back of the former’s jersey, these players would be nearly indistinguishable.

Sun, Dec. 5 CAROLINA – Will Panthers WR Muhsin Muhammad ever retire?

Sun, Dec. 12 @ San Francisco – A really big game for the Seahawks if they aim to make tangible strides this season. They have some talent and they could win – hopefully they are deploying dynamic rookie wideout Golden Tate by this point.

Sun, Dec. 19 ATLANTA – The Falcons are just taking a slightly better model of rebuilding than the Seahawks are, if that’s what Seattle truly is doing. We’ll see what new coach Pete Carroll has in his bag o’ tricks.

Sat, Dec. 25 @ Tampa Bay – Don’t let second-year pivot Josh Freeman beat you, because he certainly has the tools to.

Sun, Jan. 2 ST. LOUIS – Regardless of where Seattle exceeds or fails to meet expectations along the way, this final game at least offers the chance to end the season on a high note.
