Detroit Lions Preseason Schedule

Aug. 12-16 at Pittsburgh
Aug. 19-23 at Denver
Aug. 26-29 Cleveland
Sept. 2-3 Buffalo

2010 Regular Season Opponents

Sun, Sept. 12 @ Chicago There’s no better time for the bottom-feeding Lions to show they are ready to swim with the big fish.

Sun, Sept. 19 PHILADELPHIAWill the Eagles’ high-octane attack be lighting tire fires in the Motor City?

Sun, Sept. 26 @ MinnesotaThis is the opportunity for the Lions to show divisional and league foes whether or not they are to be reckoned with. At least the Vikes’ secondary should have a thorn in their side containing WR Calvin Johnson.

Sun, Oct. 3 @ Green Bay If Detroit can find a way to rattle Packers QB Aaron Rodgers, a road upset might – just might – be in the cheese-wafting air.

Sun, Oct. 10 ST. LOUIS Here’s a battle of two young signal-callers where both guys – Matthew Stafford and Rams rookie Sam Bradford – will know what its like to have the franchise’s hopes and dreams tied up in them.

Sun, Oct. 17 @ New York Giants Here’s a game where a dynamic rookie like DT Ndamukong Suh will doubtlessly become a factor.

Sun, Oct. 24 BYE My Sportsbook

Sun, Oct. 31 WASHINGTONThis is a winnable game, but the Lions still must ensure they don’t get shredded by McNabb.

Sun, Nov. 7 NEW YORK JETS The Lions get a little AFC action in Week 9, though I’m not sure this was the type of action they were craving.

Sun, Nov. 14 @ BuffaloThe weather probably wouldn’t have turned nasty yet, so the house-trained (get it? Ford Field is indoors) Lions need to capitalize and hunt a weak Buffalo.

Sun, Nov. 21 @ Dallas It’s possible Detroit catches the Cowboys napping at home, but barring that the Lions probably won’t win this game.

Thurs, Nov. 25 NEW ENGLANDThere’s no better person to invite into your home on Thanksgiving than a Patriot.

Sun, Dec. 5 CHICAGOIf Detroit’s back seven can terrorize QB Jay Cutler’s passing lanes, we’ll see what we have here…

Sun, Dec. 12 GREENBAYThe last three games of the season Detroit plays against division rivals, it gets them at home, which is nice. Having said that, Aaron Rodgers and Green Bay’s downfield attack might function better indoors.

Sun, Dec. 19 @ Tampa Bay Another caress from the schedule gods: Detroit gets back-to-back road games in Florida near the end of the season. Go ahead and win this one, Lions!

Sun, Dec 26 @ Miami Is it Chad Henne, is it Chad Pennington, is it Ronnie Brown under center? Whoever it is D-lineman like Suh and DE Kyle Vanden Bosch need to get an appetite for Fish

Sun, Jan. 2 MINNESOTAThe final game of the season might not be for more than symbolism for the Lions in 2010, but you can be they’ll play hard for their fans at home

Sun, Nov. 7 DALLAS The four consecutive games leading up to Detroit’s bye week are as tricky as they come. The Cowboys’ offensive arsenal is at least as potent as the Lions’.
