Football fans will have their schedules full on Sunday with NFL playoff games and Kraft Fight Hunger Bowl odds. The No. 15 Nevada Wolf Pack will take on the B.C. Eagles in what should be a thrilling match up.

Nevada (12-1, 7-5 ATS) enjoyed a brilliant season. The Wolf Pack won their last six games, including a massive upset over Boise State, which dashed the Broncos’ national title hopes. Nevada was 4-1 ATS in its last five games, including a three-game winning streak.

The team is carried by a sensational running game that averages over 300 yards per game. Nevada has two 1000-yard rushers—Vai Taua, a hard-nosed running back who raced up 1522 yards and 19 scores; and Colin Kaepernick, the star quarterback who ran for 1091 yards and 20 touchdowns. Kaepernick is a true beast and was just as impressive throwing the ball; he finished the regular season with 2830 yards, 65 percent of his passes completed, 20 touchdowns and just seven interceptions.

Nevada’s defense is solid if unspectacular. It allows 124 yards per game on the ground, good for 23rd in the country. Statistically, at least, the pass “D” is a wreck; the Wolf Pack surrendered 252 pass yards per game this season, 106th in the nation. However, Nevada’s opponents often found themselves trailing and forced to throw the ball to stand a chance. This unit is by no means dominant but, coupled with the stellar offense, its more than good enough.

B.C. (7-5, 5-6 ATS) shook off a five-game losing streak to win its last five games. The Eagles also went 4-1 ATS down the stretch.

The Eagles rely on a very strong defense. Boston College allowed less than 12 points per game during their second-half winning streak. Largely thanks to some brilliant linebacker play, the Eagles lead the country in rushing defense, giving up a paltry 80 yards per game. They also allowed just seven rushing touchdowns in 12 games this season. Boston College grabbed an impressive 19 interceptions, but generally played poorly against the pass.

Offensively, B.C. struggled. The Eagles are a decent running team, but they could be without ACC rushing champ Montel Harris; he underwent knee surgery before the regular-season finale. Freshman Andre Williams was great in his stead, though, racking up 185 yards and a score against Syracuse. Unfortunately, all the running backs will be bottled up because the passing game can’t draw any attention. Boston College’s quarterbacks finished with 13 touchdowns and 17 picks this year.

Boston College might be able to slow Nevada’s rushing attack, but it won’t stop it. Kaepernick is too good and, if B.C. risks everything to stop the run, the star quarterback will simply punish them through the air. And considering Nevada can mostly ignore the Eagles passing attack, its defense should be in store for a solid day too. This should be a blowout.

Gambling Trends:

Boston College is 5-0 SU in its last 5 games
The total has gone UNDER in 5 of Boston College’s last 5 games
Nevada is 5-0 SU in its last 5 games
