The Wildcats (4-4) shocked the Red Raiders last season, claiming the Big 12 title, but are off to a pedestrian start this year, after pulling to an even .500 on the year, following a 41-7 drubbing of Iowa State their last time out.

Kansas State’s defense forced three turnovers en route to their second straight win, allowing the Cyclones to get the ball inside the 20 just one time, while holding them to 249 total yards and one score. It was the second time in as many wins that the Wildcats have held their opponent to less than 10 points.

Offensively, KSU was led by John Hubert, who rushed for 105 yards and two touchdowns while Daniel Sams accounted for 111 total yards and scored two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Texas Tech (7-2) will look to win its first game against the Wildcats in six meetings between the two schools, while snapping its current two-game losing skid.
The Red Raiders enter Saturday’s contest fresh of a 52-34 loss to No. 12 Oklahoma State, where the defense surrendered nearly 500 total yards. If not for their inconsistent but explosive offense that complied 549 yards of its own, the Wildcats would not have been able to keep pace with the Cowboys.
Most of that offense was fueled by the Red Raiders most productive offensive player — tight end Jace Amaro, who ranks third in the country in receptions and fifth in receiving yards. Amaro set career highs of 15 receptions for 174 yards and a touchdown in the loss to OSU, and logged his fourth consecutive 100-yard game, the most by a Texas Tech player since 2007.
He has 79 catches for 1,035 yards so far this season, all coming from Davis Webb, who has piloted the Red Raiders this season, completing 45 for 425 yards and two touchdowns versus the Cowboys.

The Red Raiders will be aiming for their first win against a Wildcat team since a 66-14 rout in Lubbock four years ago.
And even though Texas Tech is 1-8 in the month of November over the last three seasons, I look for them to edge out a win in this one behind another solid day by Amaro and Webb.
