The Penn State Nittany Lions want to spoil those plans and finish over .500 for the 9th straight season (FYI: Penn State’s wins were taken away by the NCAA due to the Sandusky sanctions, but still…the way I see it is if you put money on Penn State for that time period and you won, well, hey, it’s not like all of a sudden you lost your money.

You still won, but hey, that’s just the way I look at it….)

Penn State Nittany Lions

Penn State is a solid, scrappy team with a lot of heart. Freshman quarterback Christian Hackenberg has had a good year. He’s thrown for 16 touchdowns and 10 interceptions. A reason for Hackenberg’s success has been Junior wide receiver Allen Robinson. Robinson has been a stud all season long.

So much so that he’s a semifinalist for the Biletnikoff Award. Last week versus the Nebraska Cornhuskers Robinson went over 100 yards again, and for the season has 1310 receiving yards.

Senior running back Zach Zwinak is having a good season as well. In a tough loss to Nebraska Zwinak did all he could has he rushed for 149 yards on 35 carries. For the season Zwinak has rushed for 874 yards, and 12 touchdowns.

As a team, the Nittany Lions have thrown for 251.9 yards a game, on the ground they’ve rushed for 178.4 yards a game, and as a whole Penn State has 430.3 total yards of offense. Overall, the Nittany Lions have some pretty good weapons and they are a very solid team.

But, solid probably won’t cut it against the Wisconsin Badgers who are one of the better teams in the nation.

Wisconsin Badgers

A strong running game and a strong defense has been the recipe for success, once again, for the Wisconsin Badgers. Running backs Melvin Gordon and James White have led the way. The Badgers is 8th in the nation with 297 yards a game.

James White has scored 13 rushing touchdowns which is tied for 16th and Melvin Gordon has ran for 1,375 yards which is good for 8th in the nation. Plus, Gordon has averaged for 8.2 yards a game which is good for 5th in the nation.

The Badgers defense is just as good as their running attack. The Wisconsin defense has given up just 278.5 yards per game – which is 6th in the nation – and the Wisconsin defense has only allowed 13.4 points a game, which is good for 5th in the nation.

Danny’s FREE College Football Pick:

Overall, I like Wisconsin. They are the better team, their at home, and they have a lot to play for. There won’t be a let down on the final home game this season.

The Badgers have won six straight games all of them by double digits and their defense in that time span have allowed less than 9 points in the four of those games.

Pick: Wisconsin -24
Prediction: Wisconsin 38 – Penn State 13
