UW Huskies vs. OSU Beavers Week 13 Betting Predictions & Preview

Washington vs Oregon State NCAA Football Odds

ESPN said it perfectly when they wrote that the Washington Huskies and the Oregon State Beavers would be playing in the “Frustrated Bowl” in their Week 13 matchup. Despite looking so promising at one point in the year, the season has turned the wrong direction for both programs.

Oregon State has lost its last three after going 6-1 to start the year, and the Huskies have dropped four of their last six after winning their first four contests.

The good news is that one of these teams must win come away with a win on Saturday, and it should prove to be an entertaining battle between two squads looking for redemption.

Washington

After falling in three straight contests after a perfect start, the Huskies began to turn things around when they blew out the California Golden Bears and Colorado Buffaloes in back-to-back weeks.

The problem is that they couldn’t get it done against UCLA last weekend, and they’ve dipped below .500 when it comes to their conference record.

What Washington has going for it is an offense that is still incredibly balanced, and can still score some big-time points. It scored 31 last week against the Bruins, and while that’s not going to blow away most casual fans, it is better than most have done against the team from LA this season.

Against Oregon State, the Huskies will look to put pressure on quarterback Sean Mannion. The quarterback has hardly been efficient throughout his team’s struggles, but he is still the nation’s leading passer for a reason.

The problem for the Beavers is that he’s thrown seven interceptions in his last two outings, and Washington will look to gobble up any misfires come Saturday.

Oregon State

The Beavers need to hold onto the football, and it’s really that simple. Sean Mannion has 10 picks on the year, but the majority of them have come in the team’s past two losses. When he is connecting with wide receiver Brandin Cooks, defenses have had virtually no answer this season.

Neither the Beavers nor the Huskies have an exceptional defense when it comes to points allowed, which should create for an entertaining outing for fans, and more importantly, opportunities for opposing offenses.

The score has gone over the projected number in six of Oregon State’s last eight November games, and I wouldn’t expect that trend to turn around in Week 13.

Historically, the Beavers own a huge advantage against the spread in this matchup. The last nine times Oregon State and Washington have met—regardless of the stadium—the Beavers have walked away victorious ATS eight times.

This Huskies team, which is largely the same as it was a year ago, is also just 4-11 ATS in its last 15 road games.

Oregon State has home-field advantage in this one, and it is a solid choice for a bounce-back performance this weekend.

Prediction: Oregon State 40 – Washington 30
