BYU is coming off a huge win over then-ranked #12 Texas while Utah is still stewing about their overtime loss to Oregon State last week.

Utah

The 51-48 loss in overtime to the Beavers last week still stings. The Utes are walking into a rivalry game and they are hoping the lethal combination of Travis Wilson and James Poole will do the Cougars in.

Wilson is 50 of 80 for 845 yards, 7 touchdowns, and 3 interceptions. He also has 244 yards rushing and 5 touchdowns. Just behind Wilson in rushing is Poole, the team’s star running back, with 208 yards and a touchdown.6 different players have rushing touchdowns this season for the Utes.

Wilson’s biggest benefactor so far has been Dres Anderson who has 10 grabs for 263 yards and 3 touchdowns. Three other receivers have over 100 yards receiving on the season and running back Poole is 2 yards from 100 as well.

Tenny Palepoi is leading the team with 2.5 sacks and has 15 tackles on the season. Holding the team lead for tackles is Trevor Riley with 19 to go along with 4 tackles for loss, 1 sack and 2 passes defended. [soliloquy id=”82219″]

BYU

The Cougars from Brigham Young are relying on the tandem of Jamaal Williams and Taysom Hill to run the team to victory. Williams has 326 yards on 63 carries this season and hasn’t seen the endzone yet. Quarterback Hill has completed 22 of 66 passes for 304 yards, 1 touchdown and 2 interceptions.

On the ground, however, Hill has rushed the ball 28 times for 301 yards and 4 touchdowns. No receiver on the team has reached the 100 yard plateau this season.

Leading the team in tackles is Uani ‘Unga, who has 18 on the season, including 2 for loss. Alani Fua is leading the team in sacks with 2 and is second on the team in tackles with 16. Kyle Van Noy has been a terror on defense as well, totalling 12 tackles, 3.5 tackles for loss, 1 sack and 1 pass defended.

Betting Trends

•Over is 4-1 in Cougars last 5 vs. Pac-12.
•Over is 5-0 in Cougars last 5 games following a bye week.
•Over is 4-0 in Utes last 4 games overall.
•Over is 4-1 in Utes last 5 non-conference games.
•Over is 4-1 in Utes last 5 games following a ATS loss.

Prediction: Take the over.

This game is too evenly matched to call, but 2 high scoring offenses on one field means lots of points. If BYU can continue to take to the air and Utah to the ground, this is going to be quite a show.
