The Tigers will be looking to recover from a 57-14 blowout at the hands of the Florida State Seminoles last time out.

It was the Tigers first loss of the 2013 season, as the Jameis Winston sliced right through the Clemson defense for 444 yards through the air.

Florida State outgained Clemson 565-326 yards in the game, while the battle of first downs was won 30-26 by the Seminoles.

Offensively, the Tigers Roderick McDowell rushed for 61 yards, while D.J. Howard added 26 yards.

Meanwhile, Heisman candidate Tajh Boyd recorded perhaps his worst performance of the season in which he was 17-of-37 for 156 yards with one touchdown and two interceptions, in addition to only eight yards on 14 rushing attempts.

In the meantime, Maryland lost its two top playmakers — receivers Stefon Diggs and Deon Long — to injuries in its 34-10 loss to Wake Forest last week. [soliloquy id=”82219″]

It was the last thing the Terps needed, as its passing game was already struggling.

In fact, the entire offense is having difficulties, managing a total of 37 points over the last three games.

Things have gotten so bad that quarterback C.J. Brown was yanked in the third quarter against the Demon Deacons, and replaced by Caleb Rowe, who came in and threw for 207 yards for the Terrapins, while receivers Levern Jacobs and Amba Etta had 78 and 69 yards respectively.

But it was a too little, too late.

Matt’s Free Prediction

The Tigers won last year’s meeting against Maryland, 45-10, and have won three straight versus the Terrapins, straight-up and against the spread.

This will be also be the schools’ final meeting as ACC foes,  as Maryland  heads to the Big Ten next season.

There will no doubt be a lot of scoring in this one, but unfortunately for the Terps, I expect  it will all be  one-sided.

Since its 4-0 start, Maryland has been outscored 123-37, and I don’t expect this meeting against the Tigers to produce any different results.

Clemson 50, Maryland 17
