This is their first run through the SEC and they should be able to grab a victory this week to get to the winning side of the ledger in conference play. This is the first and easiest of three straight road contest so hopefully they will be focused and not looking ahead to playing undefeated Mississippi State and Alabama.
Aggie QB Johnny Manziel may be called “Johnny Football” but he wasn’t much of a man against LSU last week. At home he threw three interceptions while not finding any running room against a tough defense.

Considering he has become the leading rusher that was a problem even though seldom used back Ben Malena ripped off 82 yards on the ground. This week against Auburn will show us if Manziel can handle adversity and respond.
If the Aggies are to enjoy a successful first season in the SEC then they have to have this one and make a statement. The SEC is a have and have not conference and it appears A&M is in the former category but this team has slid in the past. Auburn
Wow have things deteriorated quickly at Auburn. The Tigers have a lone victory (and a close one) against Louisiana-Monroe for the season. Last week they hit the road and were outclassed by Vanderbilt of all teams. The Tigers are looking at a potentially winless season in the SEC and their few close calls have put other teams into question rather than raise the status of the Tigers.
Auburn may have the worst QB situation of any team in the “power” conferences. The combination of Kiehl Frazier and Clint Moseley has thrown for 3 touchdowns with 11 interceptions. This team can run the ball with three backs averaging better than 5 yards per carry but when you are putting yourself in a hole time and time again it is hard to commit to the running game.
I wouldn’t have thought that Auburn could be a 14 point dog at home this year. The defense was supposed to carry the team as the offense steadily improved. The defense has been solid but the offense is absolutely abysmal. Those 14 points are enticing but I am not sure the offense can put up even the 13 they scored against Vandy last week. I wouldn’t bet on these Tigers right now.
