Oklahoma State is coming off a game in which they were forced to slow their tempo due to some injuries at wide receiver, but coming off their bye week, the Cowboys look to get back to their fast-paced ways on Saturday.

A tough TCU defense will look to slow that unit. The Horned Frogs defense ranks second in the Big 12 and has held each of their last five opponents to 20 points or fewer.

The Cowboys racked up their lowest yardage total of the season in their last contest against Kansas State, putting up just 330 yards against the Wildcat defense. Their biggest yards came in the fourth quarter when quarterback J.W. Walsh hit Charlie Moore on a six-yard touchdown strike to put the Cowboys ahead for good. Walsh has been the catalyst for the Cowboys all season, racking up 1,474 yards of offense for the team in his sophomore season.

The Oklahoma State defense had a tougher time than expected stopping Kansas State quarterback Daniel Sams, who put forth his best collegiate game to date, racking up 299 yards of offense and three touchdowns, although the Cowboy defense did force him to turn the ball over four times. TCU will need to do a better job of protecting the football in this contest after turning the ball over five times in their last game against Kansas. The team was still able to come out on top though, winning 27-17, largely to the play of quarterback Trevone Boykin, who completed 14 of 22 passes for 173 yards and score, with 71 yards on 12 carries and an additional score on the ground. He did throw two interceptions though, and mistakes like that won’t fly against Oklahoma State. His favorite target on the night was David Porter, who brought in four balls for 118 yards, including a 75-yard touchdown strike. Running back B.J. Catalon rushed for a season-high 91 yards on 12 totes with a touchdown in the contest.

The TCU defense wasn’t helped by the offense and special teams unit, as a pair of interceptions and a muffed punt led to Kansas’s three scores. The unit held strong throughout the game though, limiting the Jayhawks to just 198 yards of offense.

Oklahoma State has had trouble with opponents inferior to TCU this season, and the added prep time for the Horned Frogs will just make them that much tougher to beat on Saturday.

The Horned Frogs are 8-0 ATS in their last eight games following a bye week.

The play: TCU +7
