The South Carolina offense was solid in the win over Georgia with Connor Shaw passing for 2 TD and not getting picked off and Marcus Lattimore rushed for over 100 yards for the 2nd straight game. LSU has a great defense and only gave up 14 points last week. Overall, the Tigers rank 2nd in the nation defending the run and 14th defending the pass. The Tigers run D may be more important and last week in the loss to Florida they gave up 162 yards on the ground.

The LSU offense had their worst performance last week, in terms of total yards, since the 2009 season.

Tigers’ QB Zach Mettenberger was shut down last week with a grand total of 158 yards with 0 TD and he was picked off once. The USC pass defense ranked 28th in the nation and they have a very athletic secondary.

LSU’s run game was stuffed last week and they will need RB Kenny Hilliard to play better in this game. That will not be easy since the South Carolina run defense ranks 9th in the nation.  [soliloquy id=”82219″]

A couple of other big keys for the Tigers winning this game are holding onto the rock and the play of their offensive line. In the loss to Florida they had 3 turnovers and at home they cannot afford that in this big conference battle. Also, the South Carolina pass rush is one of the best in the nation, as they rank 4th in sacks.

In some betting trends for this SEC battle South Carolina is South Carolina is 5-0 ATS in their last 5 games4-1 in their last 5 SEC games, and they have an Under record of 5-1 in their last 6 vs. a team with a winning record.

LSU is 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games, 7-3 ATS in their last 10 SEC games, and they have an Under record of 5-2 in their last 7 vs. a team with a winning record.

Jason’s Pick: I think this year is the year of the Gamecocks and since they are solid on both sides of the ball they will win this game in a minor upset and remain undefeated.
