The Yellow Jackets are playing in their 17th straight bowl game, while the Rebels are 22-12, including nine wins in their last 10 bowl appearances.

Ole Miss (7-5) finished the regular season with two losses, but put up some impressive wins against LSU and Texas.

The Rebels are led by quarterback BoWallace who has thrown for 3,090 yards and 17 touchdowns in 2013, and has completed nearly 65 percent of his passes. He relies on three man targets who have combined for 164 receptions and 1,965 yards.

The Rebels will bring a balanced offense however, with a decent rushing attack that has been putting up and average of 187.4 rushing yards per contest.

Defensively, Ole Miss is led by All-SEC defensive back Cody Prewitt, who has six interceptions, including one each in the last two games. As a unit the Rebs’ D does well, stopping the run, averaging 155.2 yards per game. In fact, the it only surrendered more than 195 yards or more on the ground five times this past season.

That’s going to come in handy as they face the Yellow Jackets who are fifth in the nation in rushing (311.7) with a array of weapons including David Sims and Robert Godhigh, both who have multiple 100-yard rushing games this season. Sims leads the team with 846 and 11 touchdowns, while Godhigh is the Jackets’ leader in receiving yards.

Georgia Tech (7-5) finished out the 2013 campaign going 4-5 after beating Duke and North Carolina.

Quarterback Vad Lee has been up and down, tossing four touchdown passes against a solid Duke defense, but only six in the Jackets other 11 games, while completing only 47 percent of his passes.

On defense, Georgia Tech defensive end Jeremiah Attaochu is tied for second in the country in sacks with 12 and has racked up 31 career sacks to tie for the school record.

The Yellow Jackets are 23-18 overall in bowl appearances after snapping a seven-game losing streak with a 21-7 victory over USC in last year’s Sun Bowl.

Matt’s Free Prediction

The Rebels and Yellow Jackets have split their prior bowl meetings with Ole Miss winning the 1971 Peach Bowl and GT winning the 1953 Sugar Bowl.

The key to winning this one will be the defense that can come up with a big play, or turnover to rotate the momentum in their direction.

And while Georgia Tech is good on that side if the ball, Ole Miss is just a little better.

Mississippi 35, Georgia Tech 31
